    Hi

First of all I don't use the iPad while driving.

When parked, I lay it flat against the central armrest. Then, when I am moving, I fold the cover and then I shove the ipad in the passenger seat, wedging in between the backrest and bottom, to prevent it from moving (in case I brake suddenly).

I was wondering if others found a way to install it somehow.
Is there somekind of iPad holder that uses the cup holder?

Or for example, if I open the tray under the radio, the iPad conveniently can lean against it and the cup holder. but it`s not "held" in place hence it could easily fall and get damaged.

    Thanks

Soundman Car Audio did a full iPad dash mounted install on a Gen II, it looks amazing! i dont really use my iPad while driving, but it sure would be nice to have Google Maps running while driving as my Prius doesn't have Nav.

That iPad install was great, but I thought the door hinge replacements were pretty amazing also. I had to rewind to be sure I was seeing this correctly or am I just seeing it from a bad angle.

Only for those that drink and drive responsibily.

This is a cool idea. I didn't know about the video. I was wondering the same as the iPad has cool features (maps). While it's 99% fabrication of the holder (shown), the power cable is available to purchase. I didn't see anything high-tech to fabricate and depending on the money you want to pour out I'm sure any custom fab shop can do it. Anything clip on would be flimsy.
I have my iPhone in a mount on the dash next to the MFD. Even with it eye level to the road it's hard to touch and drive. Of course as you said you wouldn't want to use it driving BUT the MFD Nav with functions enabled while driving is the same danger (and I use that).
I was toying with having an arm(s) attached to the center console/dash facing the driver. Back of the ipad to the front passenger seat floor. The ipad isn't the brightest with all the glass in the prius (even with tint and windshield overhead tint).
There is a company (will post the link as soon as I find it again) that uses the ipad with mount in their utility vans for a mobile maintenance management system to alert drivers of new repair tickets and parts ordering. While they cannot input while driving the software app does allow address input and they get nav directions, parts needed, etc.
Depends on what you want the ipad for. If you just want a holder for storage, I would redesign the center console or something under the lower glove box or back of the passenger seat pocket.
