I have a 2010 Prius II. I have about $700 set aside fir a new HU that has a screen. I want to use it with my iPhone, plus install a backup camera for it. Can I still have Toyota's OEM one installed or is that not an option in a II? What other options do I have. Many car audio stores seem to have gone out of business.

Welcome and here is document that will show you how. I later added a reverse cam that is not included in the document. There is another thread on that.

Ask and you shall receive. :)

As spiderman said there are some good threads. With an iphone you want to get a head unit with bluetooth, and when you get there you may want to spend a couple hundred more and get nav. The toyota OEM camera is a standard camera, your options are a cheaper chineese camera off ebay for camry that looks the same, or you can go high end with a dsp camera that corrects for distortions of the wide angle lens. I would recommend you buy online. They aren't the best but bestbuy will install parts not bought from them. Head unit was fairly easy, camera was PITA. They charge $85 for a camera install.

Dont bother spending $1200 on a head unit with NAV. a $100 Tom Tom will always be better.

You don't have to use a Toyota OEM camera. Those are expensive, and nothing special. Since your HU probably has a video input for the rearview camera, you can just buy any camera off the internet for $100. They look the same as the stock, well actually nobody can or ever cares about how the camera looks. Wiring is simple, just tap into the 12V supply in the back, grounding is easy. Only hard part is wiring the reverse light to the headunit.

The OEM camera is actually pretty good. It's very sensitive to low light so no need for IR lights. I don't know the resolution on the camera though. As far as mounting, it's pretty concealed. Mine works a little different than none ATP. Mine has also pink guide lines on the bumper that tells where the relative edge of the car to the ground. I can look at the lines and know where I actually parked without opening the door and stick my head out. There are many inexpensive HU w/monitor and reverse cameras out there. The hard part is the installation. Be prepared to spend 200-400 for parts and labor if you can't do it yourself.
