    An engineering student built his own electric vehicle and recently drove it across Canada. He said finding places to recharge was not a problem, and spent $64 on electricity for the 6,500 km trip. The car was nothing exotic or expensive. He wanted to prove it could be done, and did it.

    It was an impressive accomplishment for an undergrad student but still basically just a show.

    From reading the comments following the story, a show of what an EV can do is needed! The vast majority of the comments were either why
    EVs would not work for them, or comments on how dirty electric power plants are. For EVs to catch on, the public needs some education.
