iPod nano 6g (DID NOT) fix my connection problems

My previous 5g iPod nano would lock up whenever I turned the car off. I bought one of the new 6g iPod nanos and so far it has not locked up.:)

EDIT: Spoke too soon. I let the iPod nano go to sleep/stand by mode, came back to the car 1/2 hour later and exact same problem as with my older nano. Apparently, the iPod was not fully asleep the first few times I tested it. Disappointing.:(

UPDATE 10-2-10: I had the chance to try out a 2g iPod touch and a new 4g iPod touch (camera) and both models works flawlessly. Well, except for the known issues with scratchy audio over USB with iOS 4.1, at least the music is playing/pausing reliably. It seems that the iPod interface functions better with the touch and phone models than the nanos.

Kind of an expensive fix, isn't it?

I disconnect my new Nano before turning the car off. No problems whatsoever.
