I wonder if that is the 2 DINs unit I see next to the shifter. It would be great to be able to put in an aftermarket head unit. The position is awkward tho.

Edit: Look at the additional close-up pics, it look like 3 DINs.

I need to see this is person.

I think I'm either going to really like it.
    Or really hate it.

    I can't tell from pictures.

It looks in some ways more upscale "nicer" fit and finish on the interior/dash than The Prius. But I'm not sure about the whole look. I don't know if I'd like that pop up/fold down screen....and taken as a whole it kind of seems dated looking.

But dash's are hard to judge in photos. I've seen pictures of set ups I thought I'd love and when I saw them in person I hated them, and I've also seen the opposite.

But I'd say it's interesting enough to make me wish I could afford it, and it's intriguing enough for me to want to see it in person.

If this car lives up to half the hype about it, I'm buying.

That shift knob looks like a lawn-mower pull start handle. A finely appointed pull-start.

At first I thought I was looking at a clutch, then I realized that third pedal is probably the emergency brake, similar to our Prius. I could easily imagine owning a stable of two cars: this one for long drives and a commuter EV for daily driving.

Yes! This one runs on 87 Octane regular gas. It will be a comfortable ride especially with a set of lateral performance dampers.

I see your point. There have been a lot of cars lately that look like two cars put together instead of one continuous shape. With crossovers and station wagons, automakers have to be careful. Mazda kept the mazda3 short and did a good job. When I look at the image in the original post of the rear of the black car, the top has a "stingray" shape for aerodynamics, but the bottom half retains the more square/corner shape of a traditional car. The two are clearly discontinuous. It will be interesting to see what it looks like in person.

My initial impression is that I like this car. I just hope it's not "slightly awkward." Keeping it small like the Mazda3 should help.

The car has split personality. It transforms from Eco to Sport mode.

In the press release, I did not see any information about CT200h being "beltless" like the 2010 Prius. I wonder if it is something Lexus overlooked to highlight or is there a belt? I doubt it since CT200h drivetrain is very similar to the Prius. It does not appear to be highly customized/tuned.

THe pre-release hype on this car has gotten my attention as well.
Definitely worth a close look and a test drive. Nothing serious, just a
fun little exercise as I'm perfectly happy with my '08 Gen II.

    That said,
    * Could the side mirrors be any bigger? I've seen smaller on F-250s.
I sure hope it has the folding feature.
    * The rear end looks unfortunately like a Dodge Caliber.
    * It looks like two different bodies were joined at the rear door's rear edge.
What's with all the mini-windows scattered about?
    * In the lower right corner of the first picture... is that a boom box built
    into the center console?

The interior is kind of ugly, IMHO.

At least the yellow is a bold color choice. Can't seem to find a way to download or link to the yellow exterior image. At least the caramel interior showed up.

So... who's gonna be the first to complain that the beige interior has a light grey headliner (like the Prius) or has the world's smallest rear wiper (couldn't they have hid it under the rear spoiler?).
