2010 prius & Gphone Andriod

Yes, that is absolutely possible. I have a droid x and it is connected to my 2010 prius using the wireless stereo bluetooth connection. It sounds just as good as if you were listening to a cd. Just pair your phone to the bluetooth connection. Then go to the audio button on your prius console, look for the bt tab on the prius display.. Once your in bluetooth menu, click the button that says to connect to bluetooth device and choose your phone. After you have set it up, its rare you ever need to connect to the phone manually. Mine connects automatically every time I get in the car.

I also highly recommend using a car mount for your phone so that you don't drain your phones battery.

 

Does your gphone have a headphone jack? You can go from that into the AUX input jack in your Prius' center console using a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo cable you can get from Radio Shack or any department store electronics area, and not have to mess with the stutters, etc you get sometimes with Bluetooth audio. your phone battery wiull last longer, too.

Hello all! First post and first day as a Prius owner. Yesterday the dealer and I were able to pair my Motorola Droid to my Prius for either music or phone but not both. I played both Pandora and music from the SD card over the Bluetooth (BT); however, he tried calling me from his Droid and the car's BT did not interrupt the music to take the call. My Droid automatically connects to BT for hands-free phone when I start the car and it works great. I received and made a few calls easily. Right now, I prefer hands-free phone and will use some other music source until I can figure out how to have both. Any suggestions are appreciated.

 

I believe (it's been a while now) you need to separately pair each, the first time. After that, it will pair both when you start the car (or turn on the phone.). It's two pairing processes; one for Bluetooth audio and one for the phone.

Go back to the phone pairing screen and try again. It should pair the phone.

There are others too. Go to a decent Car Audio installer - they probably can point you to some others.

 

I have not tried this device. The sound is pretty good (but not digital quality) through the AUX port. It may help to have your player at about 3/4 volume or higher, depending on the player.

But for $13, you don't have too much invested.

Can you be more specific w/the exact make and model of your phone? Your statement makes no sense. Android is an open source OS from Google.

Microsoft doesn't make any shipping phone hardware and Windows Mobile/Windows Phone from Microsoft is a competitor to Android. They do not and would not make phone hardware shipping w/Android.

How are you listening to Pandora on your phone? Are you using its internal speaker, using Bluetooth A2DP to some speakers or headphones that support it or wired headphones? If the last case, how are you connecting them?

If you told us the phone model, we could tell if you there is a mini USB to headphone jack adapter for your phone. Some HTC Android phones such as the T-Mobile G1 and early T-Mobile myTouch 3G have adapters. I have one of the latter and it came w/the adapter. You'd then just need a male to male 3.5 mm cable to go from the adapter to the Prius' aux in jack.

 

I don't see anything on their web site. Local CAr Audio installers might have it, though (CarToys, etc.)

 

That's exactly what I have (as my 2nd phone). The newer revs of the myTouch have headphone jack at the top (myTouch 3G Enhanced Phone Music Player | T-Mobile). The older ones don't (like mine).

Microsoft doesn't do the software nor hardware of that device. It is actually made by HTC and is aka the HTC Magic (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Android_devices#Smartphones).

You want to unplug the headphone portion from the dongle (long rectangular piece w/the microphone, button and cable w/mini USB plug on it). You'll notice a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack. You then need a male to male 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm stereo cable like For only $0.55 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 3.5mm Stereo Plug/Plug M/M Cable - 6ft | 3.5mm Audio M/M Cables. You can pick these up at Radio Shack or most electronics stores too. Plug that into the aux in your Prius.
