It's not hard. You initiate a hard turn to induce rotation, then lock the rear wheels. On some cars it will work if you lock all four wheels, but VSC on the Prius prevents this. On the Prius you have to use the parking brake.

Ours did fine with the Toyo 215/45R17 stock tires last winter here in New Jersey. As well as any front wheel drive car with all season tires. Due to the Prius not having large ground clearance, we didn't take it out over deep snow, no tire will save the ground hugging Prius in that case.

Your video doesn't allow embedded playback. Regardless, I understand your point. I would make the distinction that those are powered donuts. At least around here, we use the term donut generically to mean any maneuver that makes a car go round and round, like a donut.

Double-click the video and it will pop up on the real youtube site.

I find donuts boring to watch (millions of vids up), but that one is good. Wow that guy must be very, very dizzy.

In case anyone is interested, I just went to Discount Tire and got 4 Michelin X Ice in stock 15" size with 4 alloy rims, lugnuts, and TPMS sensors for $768 and will get a $70 rebate on the tires. Less than $700 total. $250 less than tire rack was for discontinued Blizzaks.

I have these tires on a vehicle already and their ability to increase the capability of a vehicle to turn and stop on ice or snow is unbelievable.

Anyone know if there is an easy way to reset the sensors when i change the wheels and tires.

By the way my new vehicle is a 2010 III in Blizzard Pearl. It replaces my 2008 Tahoe Hybrid.
