we have a 2005 Prius and our son lost our only key. will the small thin key work on it if we just buy one for $14.95? we are really broke right now and cant dont know what to do. we lost one of the keys years ago and should have had an extra one.

Your question isn't completely clear? Are you saying you lost your only key fob and wonder if a mechanical key can be used as a replacement? If so, the answer is no.

If you lost your last key fob, get ready to spend some money. Adding another fob is fairly easy. Reprogramming without a working fob is going to take the dealer some time, so you end up paying for a new fob, and extra time.

Just so we understand the details, do you have the SKS (silver logo)?
