Hey, you cat lovers, HELP! I've got a new cat about 2 years old and he pees in his litter, but won't poop in it. He likes to poop outside the box. I'm going to try some Dr. Elsey's Cat Attractant in his litter and hope that corrects the problem. Anybody have a solution besides get rid of the cat?

Oh, by the way, I brought him home last week using his carrier in my new Prius. I got to tell you that the Prius' ventillation system does not refresh the air nearly enough for a cat with nervous farts!

    Happy Motoring!

We had the same problem with our older cat. The solution is to confine the car in a small room like a closet with only the litter box, food, and water. Scoop the box every day and of course give the cat some attention each day. However, the cat stays in the room for a least a week or until it starts using the box for all bodily functions.

The method I've used is to keep picking up the poop and the cat and putting them both in the litter box. Eventually they get the message. But maybe you can't teach an old cat new tricks, either.

Try a different type of litter. And keep the box very clean.

Try a Cat-L Prod, poop, zap, poop, zap.... no more poop!

I went out and bought a CAT-L prod, but when I inserted it into his prod hole, he got nasty! Evidently, the cat figured out something since he's been using his poopie litter correctly the last two days.

Thanks all for your support and advice.

    Happy Motoring!
