Is anyone datalogging OBDII/CAN data? Any recommendations?

    If the goal here is to log the bus traffic and capture a potential problem, wouldn't it be best to use a passive method? Ideally, you'd listen but not talk. That way, you're sure you didn't cause the problem.

    I will start with the passive data, but there is some really useful info available when you actively ask about it.

    If we limit active data capture to 5-10 samples per second, there should be no impact on normal operation.

    Could someone point me to the passive frames that carries RPM, IGN, speed, outside air temperature, ... etc. for gen 2? Thanks very much!
