I've gone through most posts and would like to verify information...

Toyota ipod adapter...not able to be used on III with satellite radio...is it plugged into the head end and if so, can't it be unplugged?

USB...that is a seperate option...can this be plugged in without disconnecting anything?

You would have thought that Toyoto would have learned, but no....

    Thanks for reading...

From what I've read here it's built into the JBL stereo. The USB option only works on the Navigation units.

There are a few aftermarket options but they appear far from perfect. See http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...cs/69211-2010-ipod-integration-kits-help.html

I'm also very disappointed in Toyota support for the iPod in a Prius III. I'm wishing I'd saved some money and bought a Model II now. I'm now locking at replacing the HU and even that is more complicated in the Prius III due to the JBL amp. The PAC-TATO you need to use with the JBL system won't work with a unit that outputs more then 4 volts. See http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...-factory-jbl-amp-work-aftermarket-stereo.html
