Thats the amount CO2 will raise the Earths temp (according to Scientific American, coincidentally )without positive feedback.
The feedback is where I become a skeptic, when negative feedback is out of the equation.

Eh, you have been saying very contrary things...I have never altered your quotes. So I'll ignore this rant since at least you describe your position here....which totally goes against your first "accepted paper" that I saw you link from (Seitz) BTW:

Right, so you get this particular model from Scientific American....then try to disprove all AGW studies with links from the climate change dispatch. Right, that's logical  I'll give you that there are several different models for climate change. Even if AGW increases global temperatures 2.1 degrees in 100 years, that is a significant change! (it's even within the range considered in the 2007 IPCC report:eek: )

I agree that the bible exists. I can get a copy at the library. As far as god is concerned, I'll find that out when I die. And so will you. Because unitl then, you may have belief, but you don't have proof.

If you know god, introduce me. In person. I'd love to meet him.

You can all argue about the existence of a god till the cows come home but you just don't know and can't know. You can believe but you can't know. You'll know when you die, no sooner no later. I for one believe that I have no knowledge of anything until I was born and when my lights go out, so will I. But again, that is my belief, not my knowledge. So let's all see what happens.

I think it far more likely that when we die we won't find out anything because we (our consciousness, our awareness, our identity, our thoughts, our "self") will no longer exist.

I think you're contradicting yourself. You say that when you die you will find out, but you're also saying (as I believe) that when you die you won't find out anything because you will cease to exist.

I think that religion is so popular because people cannot endure the prospect of their own non-existence. So they invent a fantasy wherein a supernatural creator preserves their "self" when their body dies. Of course, then they embellish the fantasy with a paradise for themselves and a hell for everyone they hate. And then they have wars over which club to belong to in order to get to paradise and avoid hell. And then there's lots of money to be made being in charge of one or another of the clubs, so that leads to more turf wars.

I wouldn't mind it if they kept to themselves. But they use their asinine fantasies as an excuse to promote hatred, intolerance, racism, homophobia, environmental destruction, capitalist exploitation of workers, and every other sort of cruelty and irresponsibility. And that makes me angry. So when they tell me that I should "respect their beliefs" my answer is that I respect the beliefs of people who respect their fellow creatures and the planet, and I call "bullshit" on beliefs that justify cruelty and destruction.

au contraire... I do have proof... if you were to know me some years ago, and compared me to how I am now... you would say I was different (for the better I hope). That is God relieved through me as He does that through all His other children. You can tell His children by the fruit they produce.
And you say that is hog wash... well the fact is, we can not physically stand in the presents of God period. With that said, you could physically feel His presents. It has happen to me. If you want I can tell you how to make that happen...
    Cheers

I'm a better person since I became an atheist. Does that prove god doesn't exist?

But I'm supposed to accept your word that you're a better person? And that's somehow 'proof' of god's existence?

I don't understand how you fail to see the complete and utter ridiculousness of your arguments.

Wait, did you really mean "presents"....instead of "presence" ? If you meant presents, maybe that's why many religious people believe in the contrary notions of Christ being altruistic, while not practicing that themselves. As for god "himself"/"herself"/"itself"....everyone has different ideas about what god is. I have met truely altruistic Christians as well as Muslims as well as athiests....just as I have met truely deplorable Christians as well as Muslims as well as athiests. Religion is a personal thing that doesn't seem to reflect the person's total persuasion.

How do you know so much about the will of god if you have never heard from his lips these things you say he wants from us? I can only assume you parrot the words of men and pass them off as the words of god. Just hearsay, isn't it? As there is no god there is no one that can speak for god. As so many profess to speak the word of god but there are so many different versions of the will of god one can only come to the conclusion that it's all a crock of faeces.
