The right side main head lamp sometimes does not come on when I switch on the lights, this started happening about 10 days ago, rarely at first, about 50% of the time now.

I would change the HID light bulb, but I am not sure that will take care of it since there is no visible deterioration in brightness or light quality when it is on.

So far I just checked the visible / accessible light connections and fuses to make sure nothing is lose or burned or grounded, but did not find anything.

My other problem is that money got very tight for me lately, so I cant be blowing $70-$130 per light bulb needlessly or taking it to a dealer or repair shop.

Any good advice would be appreciated

    Thank You

Spend the money, your bulb looks likes it's dying.
Install it yourself, save some bucks there.
Do a search for changing the bulb, visit this URL..

Classic description of a HID bulb on its last legs. You need a D4R bulb. Try ebay, expect to pay $40-$50. Best bet is to get a pair since the other bulb is likely near the end of its service life as well.

Just one more question. it seems the D4R light bulbs are often sold in twin packs so I will get a set and they are 4300K, 6000K, 8000K or 10000K

I have no idea which of those to get or what does that K rating mean if it is or isnt relevant to my car and how do I find out ?

K is the color temperature. 4300K is what you have now. 6000K is bluer, 10000K is purple. By the way, Philips is the better brand.
