wow this post is really amazing.
rare-earth mat. is not called that way because there is not a enough of them for what we need them for.

your talking about that you did go for the jetta because of design ( jetta design??? if you want do drive a box yes ) and the technology ( mm what technology? ) and alse speak about the simplecity of the TDI.. ( ok so where do i find this technology? not in the old fasion simple TDI ).

the rare tuff your talking about is stuff like Nickel.
    or not?
well what do you thing is used in those nice 20inch rims your have in your ride...
    and the ice
    the body even...
omg.. and then that bigger lead acid 12 volt battery ( prius only needs a small one ).. acid rains because of this?;):D:p:rolleyes:.

did you ever think about what is going in to the air from the exhaust of a Diesel... well if you like long cancer then be my guess en keep on driving your "green" jetta dirty TDI.

you only get good mpgs on the highway the prius gets them al of the time.

This isn't even a fair comparison. The Prius is a hatchback. The Jetta is a sedan. The Jetta is compact, the Prius is mid-size.
It's like comparing vinegar with water. The Prius is really great for city driving. The Jetta is really great for highway cruising. I've had all three generations of the Prius, all of them were very comfortable. So I don't know where they get off saying that the Prius is uncomfortable, heck, old people even have Prius' because they ride so smooth and quiet.

The Jetta is comfortable too, but not as roomy or versatile.

I also don't know how they only got 39mpg in the Prius because I get at LEAST 46, and that's going to West Virginia from Illinois averaging 85+mph. That's another thing, it's not the Prius that's slow, it's the way people drive them. I, personally, drive mine normally, like anyone else would drive a normal car. I really enjoy driving the car, I don't do it because I want to save gas money, or because I want to save the environment. I do it because I like the technology that's jammed under the hood. I really hate when people comment me saying "F*** your Prius!" because it's JUST A CAR. Not an identity. If anything, everyone should have some level of respect for the Prius, I respect all other cars, diesel's, gasoline, steam, I believe there are many different ways to powering a car. On that note, I want to say that the Prius, and all other hybrids have proven worthy. The batteries in them last a lifetime, (a man in Canada exceeded 400,000mi in a 2001 Prius with the original battery and no major repairs.) Years of hybrid car ownership from Americans (11 years) proves that hybrid powered cars add a genuine alternative to the traditional gasoline and diesel powered vehicles. There are tons of different hybrid models out now. Go take one for a test drive, you'll be surprised. :)

    1) Ever hear of the Jetta Sportwagen

    2) Took me 1 1/2 years of trial and error seat mods costing $2k to get reasonably comfortable in my 2009, then again, my legs are over 35" long, and I imagine your's aren't. They even have web pages warning neophytes of the 2nd gen's chair -

    3) Prius is not slow. It's zippy from about 30 to 60. Acceleration from standing start is adequate.
