I have a problem with my left side rear door. It can no longer be opened from the inside, even when unlocked. Anyone else had this problem? And if you did, what was the fix?

    Thanks.

    Check Your Child Lock

It should be in the "up" position.

I'm sorry, I don't know what the lid lock is. Can you explain?

    Thanks.

Was this post edited to now indicate child lock? Oh well, maybe I misread it the first time. The child lock button is in the up position. All the other doors open, just not the left rear. I think the cable may be broken. It doesn't feel like anything is attached to it when you pull on it.

it's dark or I'd go out and look but I'm certain it's there...

Open that door (from the outside) look at the edge/back of the door, not the outside, not the inside - the EDGE, where it would fit against the body when the door is closed. Child lock switch should be there, flip it to the other position and all should be back the way it was. Pretty much any four door car built in the last ten years has these. Unless you have kids you don't have any particular reason to know, but they are there.

    easy fix, nothing broken.

Thank you very much Delta T. That indeed was the problem. I have no idea how it happened, but I am very glad it is fixed.

    Thanks again.

I love this board. Ask a question, get an answer, and it works!

My dad used to play practical jokes to friends and family with that, especially when the locks were a new feature.
They couldn't get out, but my dad would look at them funny and open the door. Sometimes they would try again, and still get stuck.
