Apologies for the lack of step by step pics, but I wasn't satisfied with my HID kit (5000k). It was brighter than the stock H11 but it didn't diffuse well and all in all, visibility was uneven.

I read up on converting h9 bulbs for cars that use h11 and I gave it a go.

    Observations:
-whoa! Its like daylight with the fogs and low beams on. Super bright (on par with the HID kit, no projector lens). The h9 bulb/lens(?) set up has wider and more even light distribution than the HID sans proper projector.

-fogs now truly do their job and do it well.

-light is yellow, whiter than the h11's though.

-a few days of use and no burning smell or evidence of heat damage at the lamp or wiring.

-The modifications per bulb took approximately 2 minutes.

I highly recommend this mod (pics soon)

Did you just use halogen h9 bulbs or switch to h9 HID bulbs? The light distribution on my h11 HID kit is pretty terrible as well and if h9s will work better then I'll def order a set asap

H9 halogen, I took out the HID kit completely (tired of the occasional flicker, poor distribution, and honestly the color (5000k but it looked blue as 7000k) was bugging me)

would it make a big difference on the lights output if we're using HIDs? I can see the difference when comparing H11 and H9 halogens (1350 lumens on the H11 and 2100 on the H9) and also the wattage I think is diff (55w vs 65w)... but on the HID's... if we are comparing a 6000K H11 and 6000K H9... would there be any difference on the lights pattern?
