Will be going for the 5k tire rotation coupon in a couple weeks as I'm at 4700 miles right now (purchased car in August), but the check air filter screen keeps coming up when I switch the navigation. Any thoughts as to why that might be? I thought those are usually replaced around 30k miles.

I don't have nav, but do you have solar roof that may be why it might be telling you to check the cabin filter.

Is it possible that the cabin filter air inlets are blocked by snow or ice. ???

I agree with Troyroy. That's the first thing I'd check. No way the air filter should be dirty @ 4700 miles.

There have also been reports of mice making a home on the cabin filter! Some have even posted pictures. It might be worth checking!

Also, 30k miles is a little high for replacing the cabin filter. I changed mine at 20k and it was full of dirt etc.

In the nav system, there is a maintenance section, where you can program reminders for various maintenance items, and the reminders are displayed on the nav screen (this is different than the oil/filter service reminder which is displayed on the dash display). It could be your dealer programs reminders as a "revenue enhancement" program. :p

Thanks for the suggestions guys =)

Ill check the nav screen tomorrow morning, and the blockage is possible, although after today's snowstorm I know there is snow/ice in there, so maybe I'll wait a little bit til it thaws to check for sure.
