    Hi tiprock,

DId you stop filling at the first click on the pump?

My fillups have been given about 5-7 % (oops) lower mileage than the displayed value in the car. I click a few times, to be sure the bubbles have disipated in the tank, and I get a consistent fill level.

Others have found similar results to what I have.

I've not had one fill up in the 29 I've done so far where the actual/calculated MPG was higher than the computer reported MPG. It would be cool to think that your calculated to computer reported MPG's are closer than mine (and most others), because it may mean that Toyota tweaked their calculations to give answers that are more accurate.

How many fill-ups have you had where the calculated vs reported are within 1 MPG of each other? Where calculated is BETTER than reported. I don't have an example of either for my car. Closest I ever came was a reported mileage of 65.6 and a calculated of 63.8 MPG (-1.8 mpg). Otherwise, I'm typically 3.0 +/- 0.5 MPG lower than reported.

41,000 on our Prius, Calculated is nearly always 2.5 to 3.5 miles off
the computer generated figure. Computer will nearly always read more
    than actual.

A few times were I took short trips and filled up the computer appeared to
be much closer than long trips.

In just the few 1/2 tank fill-ups we've done: in-dash display of numbers like 5.3 becomes 5.6 when calculated, which converts to an error of around 2.5 mpg, say 42 vs 44.4.

I know, not very good, but it's cold/wet, and we're doing a lot of short trips, on snow tires.

    thanks for the responses.
this is the first time this has happened. all the other previous tanks the displayed was about 3 mpg higher that calculated. i usually "click" the fuel pump twice after the initial click. i didn't do anything different this past fill up.
looks like i have to try a tad bit harder to become a real 60 mpg member. haha.

You're close enough to rank among them IMO. :)
