The Prius Gen 3 sold in Israel is w/o cc. I had the dealer add it on before delivery for another $600.
I am very happy I did so.;)

I am not 100% sure about the Gen III, but on the II it is a 2 wire connection that plugs into the "clockspring" assembly. There is no programming option in TechStream, it's simply built-in to the HV ECU.

I looked at the schematic and it looks pretty much the same as the II, there is no indication as to whether or not the rest of the harness has the required wires. I suspect since it's so rare to *not* have it, that they didn't bother with a separate harness and all that's needed is the stalk and short cable.

After successfully installing a cruise control switch on my Prius 2010 (base model, European version), I prepared the attached guide (at your own risk).

    Hope this helps.

I'm glad I found this thread..I just bought a 2010 Prius tonight and was told by the salesman it was a Prius 2... in my excitement I didnt even notice it didnt have cruise control... I noticed when I got home... it also doesnt have all of that other equipment base Prius should have that this article posted by xs650 mentions.

I'm sad and mad at the same time..Actually more mad..like the article says... "It's undeniably a grimmer car" Grrr!!! I have a lowely Prius 1...yuck!!

Thanks again ircama for your very detailed instructions. It works great and was a pretty simple mod. Although the ebay part came all the way from Thailand, there were no problems and it only took about a week to arrive. I would only add to your instructions for possibly more clarity: put the metal locking clips back in place before putting airbag back (obvious?) as this will allow it to simply snap into place. Don't mind driving far in the Prius anymore!!! :)

I have never seen P1, and it is not listed at toyota site..

does it have steel rims? I read somewhere that they were planning to downgrade rims for P1.
