Making a Height Adjustable Driver's Seat for 2009 Prius

Sheep Skin



OK, more words. I don't know of a more comfortable seat cover material than genuine sheepskin. I'm speaking of the bottom cover in the pic above. It seems like a miracle material that cures most ails in feel of a seat.

Picture below shows Corolla foam bottom on seat. This is not the best cushion to use as it has too much tilt and makes too much thigh pressure when I slide back.

Another improvement of the 3rd generation Prius is that the brake pedal appears moved an inch or two to the right and it is not so much closer to the driver than the gas pedal.

In the 2nd Gen Pri, the pedal appears centered with the steering wheel and is at least two inches closer than the gas pedal making it a tad awkward to apply or hold at a stop light.

After using the Corolla bottom foam cushion for another month and 4 months total, it is not the best cushion to use - it has too much tilt at any height setting and gives too much thigh pressure when I slide back where I like.

The Prius foam bottom is the best to use on this Corolla/Prius blended frame. But, I have to use a thick sheepskin seat bottom cover as the bare Prius bottom cushion feels pretty terrible, always has.

I can actually get the whole seat and setting fairly close to that of the 2010 Prius. So I have nothing much more to complain about.

I figure if I don't like the car at this point, well, I just don't want this or any Prius. I tend to have a hankering for sportier types of cars and motorcycles, so it's a good thing the Lexus CT 200h is coming out. That may be just the ticket some years down the road.

 

Sold my 2009 Prius, so I think it smart to try to find a buyer for this custom seat. Seems a local sale would be best to avoid expensive shipping. Will likely advertise it in a while. Pictured below -
