    Hey Guys,

I just picked up a new 2010 Prius III last night. I sold my 09 Super Silver GTR today. I drive about 60,000 miles a year, so for me it was just what I needed. I'm going to miss the speed, looks, and fun I had in the GTR, but I needed a lifestyle change to accomplish the other things in life I want to achive.

Wow! That's a HUGE switch, esp. in the performance department.

At least the cost of maintenance (besides fuel) will be far lower. I've read (and spoke to a Nissan service department) of some crazy rates for maintenance like the very expensive transmission fluid.

I'm getting married in July, and it's time for me to stop wasting money on cars. I paid $1100mo on the GTR, $350mo on my work truck (4cy Colorado 16-18mpg average), $275mo for the insurance on both, and 800-1000mo on gas! It really starts to add up! I sold the GTR, and the Colarado and now I'll just have the Prius! I working on buying a new 4,500sf home which I think I'll enjoy more than the GTR, and hopefully it will retain it's value better.

Congrats on your new Prius and welcome to PriusChat. When your "money ship" comes in, you'll be back in the saddle with a new, cool performance car. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the technology!

    Happy Motoring,

    Tom

Welcome and enjoy the hybrid exclusive premium features with your Prius. Less than 10 gallons fill ups and getting out of the gas station for another 500 miles is price less.

It's by far the coolest I've ever owned, but I guess it was time to grow up!

You know, with the money being saved, I think you could go and rent one periodically just to get that wanting of fun, speed, etc out of your system. That's one heck of an adjustment in driving experience! I've always wanted to rent one of those exotic cars when I'm out in Vegas! Maybe next time I go I'll put it on my "to do" list.

For that fluid price, you'd expect to be able to use launch control without voiding the warranty.

BTW, I traded an 08 Audi RS4 on Prius.

What did the guys on your GTR forum say when you told them you were buying a Prius? I can only imagine.

Nice GTR! Big difference there! But I can understand! I traded my
2010 MazdaSpeed 3 in for my 2010 Prius III. Not a GTR, but for
similar reasons I did the same. I still have my 94' Rx7 white with
black leather! Welcome, so far I like the Prius. Its a different type
    of fun! :welcome:

I imagine she's very happy because prior to selling the GTR he probably had women on him like rattles on a Prius.
