So today I took the plunge and order a Sony XNV-770BT for my Prius III. Now I see I have several options on which connector kit to use so I'm looking for advice on which ones I should order.

I have a JBL system so which is better

• Metra TYTO-01
• PAC TATO
For the steering wheel controls which is better

• Metra Axxess (ASWC) Interface
• Pac SWI-PS
My understanding for the steering wheel controls for a Prius III I'm going to lose the bluetooth hangup and pickup buttons. Is that correct?

I sure hope someone answers... I'm on the verge of ordering the same unit.

BTW, which mount/adapter did you get... Metra, Scosche, or OEM Toyota?

Thanx.

I went with the OEM Toyota mount part #55405-47080 and Metra fillers 95-8202. I think it looks better.

Apologies for being a pest... if I may ask:
– Though whom did you get the OEM mount?
– Likewise the unit itself, AudioSource through Amazon?
Again... thank you... and we're looking forward to hearing more about your installation, the unit's performance, etc. :hail:

No problem I've been pestering other people with my questions so I'm more than happy to help if I can.

The OEM Mount I purchased through Auto Parts Cheaper since at the time of my purchased they had a really good deal on it. I found it simply by doing a google search on "toyota 55405-47080" and then selecting shopping.

Yes I bought the unit through AudioSource via Amazon.

Before you buy it make sure you watch these videos so you know what problems the Sony deck has.

Every stereo seems to have some weakness so you just have to choose your poison.

I've never done a stereo install so this may take awhile for me to complete the whole process. I also don't have a garage so the weather will dictate when it gets done.

Thanks for the quick reply and the videos!!!

I have a garage--unheated! We had a low of 0º F this morning, so I'll have to get permission from dear wife to use her supplemental electric heater from the office :)

--------

The videos are for the 660, but I see that the 660 and 770 share the same Users Manual, so I gather the two are very similar.

I was reading the http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...e-command-buttons-work-aftermarket-radio.html thread tonight and I think I may have blown it by buying one of each component from each manufacture. ie I ordered Metra TYTO-01 and Pac SWI-PS.

Would I make my life easier if I just ordered the Pac TATO and not use the Metra TYTO-01 especially given that it appears the Metra TYTO-01 doesn't give me the resisters I need.

I like the build and quality of PAC better than Metra..

I installed the PAC TATO and PAC SWI-PS. It allows all steering wheel buttons to work (including voice command and phone buttons). I installed the Pioneer AVIC-X920BT.

If you use the PAC TATO - do you need any other "speaker harness" for JBL , or is that the only thing (outside of the other components like antenna adapter, steering wheel , etc.

Thanks
