What are the differences of these two packages?

I really need you help on this! I am looking and have a great price on a 2011 Prius V with the Tech and Nav packages. I was looking over what each of these packages give, and if I only get the advanced technology package it has everything the Navigation package has. What is the difference between the two?

I mean why buy the nav package when the tech package has it already.

Not sure if the packages changed for 2011, but for 2010 the advanced tech package included the nav package.

I'm confused by your question, which seems self-answering. Is the dealer trying to charge you for both?

Yes I guess? When you add the packages to the car you (I) can add the advanced Tech package for $5,080 and the Nav package for $2,380. So are you saying its one or the other, but not both?

If it is the same as 2010 you would order one or the other, both on the same car would not be possible. The ATP has everything the Nav Package has plus The DRCC, LKA, PCS, and IPA. So a Prius V could have no package, Nav package or Adv Tech Package only those three choices exist for the Prius V.

If you go to the Toyota web site you can select options and it will give you the MSRP.

Help us out here--your comments highlighted in red above are confusing--so is the dealer trying to charge you for both options?

You can get a Prius V with either just Navigation or the Advanced Tech package WHICH INCLUDES NAVIGATION. So yes, you have to choose one package. Do you want nav alone or nav with all the other neat features that come with the adv. tech package...

OK now the light is shining though. I have been in contact with a dealer and asked the dealer for his best price on a 2011 Prius V with Tech and Nav package (both) he in return sent me the following. It was my understanding that you could add both.
    2011 Prius V with:
    AWBT 17\”alloys
    AYBT tech package
    PV40 mats.

You asked the wrong question, as the Adv. Tech package already includes NAV and your dealer is confused. AY is Advanced Technology package (which already includes NAV) with USB & Safety Connect.

Honestly I would get a III with Leather and Nav. You can upgrade wheel and suspension yourself.

I know this now! I just sent back an email on this. I let you all know when I get a reply back. I also sent an email to Pinehurst Toyota for this price that I got for 2011 Prius V with ATP for $31,749 + TTL .
I will most likly have to order.

Sure you can do all that but at the end of the day, you still have a III with a pretty pink bow on it. Also It's impossible to add radar cruise, pre collision system, lane keep assist and intelligent parking and too costly to swap halogen headlights with LED headlights. There's no need to upgrade the suspension b/c all priuses have to the same suspension.

To the OP, there are 3 Prius Fives you can buy. 1) no package, 2) Navigation Package 3) Advance Technology Package. The ATP also includes the Nav pack. If the dealer is charging you for both packages, you're getting ripped of because it's either one or the other but not both.

You would want the nav package if you wanted navigation but not the other equipment such as LKA, PCS, DRCC and APGS. As the others have said, the AT package already includes navigation as part of it's $5k price tag. IOW, it's $2,700 for the 4 items I listed above.

OK I have talked to the dealer and have worked out what had happened. When I emailed them I had asked for a matching price that I had from another dealer, of which I said I wanted the tech package and Nav package. The price I had from dealer #1 had added both but dealer #2 that was matching but beat that price only add the ATP to my car of choice.
So to make a long story short it looks as I will order my new 2011 Prius 5dr HB V with ATP for $31,749 +TTL. I will most likely go the dealer on Friday or Saturday to place my deposit.
I think I did really good!

Falcon, a dealer 87.7 miles away from Roxboro has a AAA price of $31249 for a 2011 5AT. You can't order a car. You can tell the dealer what you want but they have to find it in their allocation or do a dealer trade.

I agree with all, except the last statement. I am not convinced that all Prius have the same suspension....

Hey, I live in Pinehurst. They do have Prius on the ground, so maybe you'll get some competitive pricing.

Not quite, steering ratio is very important and the Prius V has a faster steering ratio, almost a full turn less lock to lock than the other versions. I have driven both and there is a very noticeable difference.

If your an old sports car guy as I am or enjoy spirited driving the faster ratio is very desirable. I have no evidence to support this belief but I also think it's safer in an avoidance situation. You probably can not add faster steering, or if you could it would be far to expensive.

If you are going to spend money for good quality after market 17" wheels and tires anyway the cost of a a Prius V isn't that much more. If you want the extra safety of DRCC and PCS then you have no choice anyway.

    Agreed.

Plus, when you sell the car, you get almost no (if any) credit for the aftermarket stuff, particularly if you trade it in. Dealers just look up values in Manheim, KBB, etc., and those only include the factory models and options.
