All is not lost. You can replace your fabric with Katzkins leather upholstery or Clazzio seat covers. They both offer far more choices that Toyota did and you will save quite a bit of money over upgrading to a model with leather when you bought your car.

My puppy had diarrhea in the car when it had 2500 miles on it, that's why you see the leather seat covers now

I have leather seats since I bought a pkg IV, but I want to protect my driver's seat. I had my previous car (a Saab 900 SE) with leather seats and my driver's seat bottom leather cracked over time because I didn't do anything to protect it.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Cossie,

The covers do look great! I've got the Bisque interior and was thinking of doing the dark gray/black leather for the seats (as they appear to match the dash pretty well).
I see that you've got a leather center armrest cover as well...is that one of the eBay covers?

    Thanks!

Not sure if you've seen it yet, but there's a thread on matching Clazzio colors. I have the Bisque, too. I paid a visit to the Clazzio factory a couple of weeks ago and actually laid out several different seat covers over the original ones to see which color matched best. Full report here:

    http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...odifications/82472-clazzio-color-match-2.html

My opinion bottom line for black vs. dark gray: Black is too dark. Overpowers the interior. Also get too warm. (That might not be a problem in CT, but in CA it's something I worry about.) Dark gray, on the other hand, is an excellent match. It's the one I chose in the end.

I've started installation, but haven't had enough free time yet to finish anything.

I've made a rule for myself that I will not drink anything but water inside my Prius and no eating in the car. Even with leather seats! I made an unholy mess out of my last car and have vowed not to do this again. Leather seats protect to some extent but a spilled large coke has a way of sticking around long after, even with interior carpet cleaning.

Nope, they all came with the kit. It fits great. I have 30K miles on the leather, the driver side bottom is showing a little wear thanks to my fat butt and my doggies digging on it.

    Thanks Cossie!

They do still look really good. Is it the lighting, or did you go with black leather with the Dark Gray interior?
I'm thinking to have a local upholstery shop do the door inserts in a matching vinyl/leather/pleather (as the Bisque ones don't seem to want to wear well).
Might even splurge and check the cost of covering the steering wheel in leather, too.
I'm guessing that a lot of stretching need be done, so I'll be waiting for warmer weather anyway.

They are definitely true black. I actually ordered the wrong color from ebay, but it ended up working out as it created a cool two tone job in the car. It got the approval from the wife, so I am good.

I am not too concerned with the side panel, it's just part of the look.

So they're the same color as the dash, or darker? Again, it's kinda hard to tell in the photos.
    Looks good either way!

    Thanks!

Definitely darker, but it doesn't look out of place to be honest. It's like a two tone job

    It does look good!
I emailed Clazzio in hope that they'll send out a few swatches. I've never seen any of their stuff in person, as the local dealers either stock the IV or V (which have factory leather) or the nice but very spendy Katzkins.

They also seem to hold up better than the OEM.

Does the extra padding that they add make any difference in comforty, etc?

They are definitely more comfortable, it really does make the car look nicer. Before the seats, the car looked like a typical mid size sedan. With the leather, it made it look a tad nicer, at least move it toward the luxury side. I still think it has to do with the black. Grey and cloth just don't stand up well against age and time

If you are ever in CT, you are welcome to check it out.

If you have fabric seats, highly recommend this stuff, it really works in protecting the fabric. Had a couple of accidents on my prior car with drinks and other misc crap but was able to clean it up with just a damp cloth with no problems, no cleaners needed.

danvee, I will snap some pictures for you tonight.

I just rented a 2010 Prius for a 1200 miles 4 day trip. My dogs managed to successfully destroy the cloth seats in it, there was about a ton of fur stuck on those bad boys (along with some chipotle related gas). I can tell you the clazzio leather will make you sit slightly higher and they are slightly softer. I don't know if you get a better ride out of it, but it does feel a lot nicer and softer.
