    1998 Prius 90k miles (avg. 33k miles a year, 90% hwy)

I've only been to the dealer 1 time to replace a HID bulb. I change my oil at home every 7500k Mobil 1. Recently replaced the cabin filter and air filter and tires (25k ago) I'm going to the dealer for the following services on Tuesday

    Coolant change $100?
    Trans Axel fluid change $100?
    PVC valve $25?
Brakes clean/adjust/replace (I have a slight humming noise in the back)

Any insight on costs or additional services ?

Thanks for the reminder...funny. Those prices I mentioned were based on avg prices I've seen on the boards. I have no idea what the dealer wants to charge me.

If your car is producing a humming sound, it is more likely that a rear wheel bearing is bad.

Regarding coolant, don't forget that both the engine and inverter/transaxle coolant will need to be replaced.

$25 for a PCV valve installed? Really? Compared to most cars, they are a real PITA to get to.

My Toyota dealer results...the rear humming noise was the rear tires. I have Nokians with 38k on them and the tires wore oddly due to my lack of tire rotations. Dealer also found the water pump starting to leak $333-, the brakes after 87k were still 70% life left in them. I got the rear brakes cleaned and adjusted for $85-, transaxel fluid changed $110- also did the gas pedal recall

Toyota dealer gave me a free loaner car fit the day
Next day I went to Kenwood Tire who changed the front tires to the rear and installed 2 new Nokians in the front and did a 4 wheel alignment total $406-Grand total for the two days $934-

Next dealer service will be spark plugs/PCV valve at 120K

I'm pretty happy with the Prius 3 yrs/ 87k later.

Glad to hear that your car is sorted out now.

I had a set of Pirelli tires on the 2004 which wore abnormally, so that they produced lots of noise. I ended up getting rid of those tires when they still had > 50% tread life remaining.
