Funny. They just walked up and told me that there is only one color. They were confused and thought I wanted the door edge guard moldings installed.

As far as I know there is only one color. They might have a new color for 2011, but my local Toyota dealer in the Twin Cities haven't heard of it either.

Dealer installed them and I just got around to looking at them up close today... They don't look like they are installed right :( There is a little part at the bottom of the door that isn't actually covered by the molding.

Does anyone have the install instructions in PDF format? Or could someone scan this for me?

Why don't you post the pictures so we can see if it's done correctly?

Pics uploaded! Pictures were taken by my cell phone so I appologize for the poor quality photos.

As you can see, there is a bit of door that is left uncovered toward the bottom. I can see why they mounted it where they did because that is where that body line in the door is. I would have preferred it to be mounted lower and also.... for them to have removed that clear paint protectant vinyl at the bottom of the passenger doors!

Peter, that's a little unfortunate, but the curves on mine also had that odd lining-up problem, but I carefully fit the molding as close to the door edge as I could...I doubt you'll notice in a few weeks....and I hope you don't nick your door too

Same gap on mine for the curvy part. The bottom part though, the dealer must have chosen to install it slightly higher. The important thing is that both front and rear pieces are horizontally aligned.

Just finished installing the trim for my '11. If by chance you have access to a lift so that you could work at eye level it would make the job 100% easier. Ordered from Priuschat Shop, arrived in a little over a week.

As noted above and I will emphasize more, the door and/or the trim aren't a perfect match either in length or straighness. My passenger rear door is actually smaller than the trim piece length by just a hair. On the front driver's door if I lined up the trim piece on the front door where it is even with the bottom edge of the door at each end, it is almost 3mm high above the bottom edge of the door in the middle. Raising the ends to the installation instruction height left almost 1/4" of paint showing under the bottom middle of the trim on my car. So compromises have to be made in lining things up.

I gave up trying to run a piece of tape, make marks, etc. while working six inches off the ground. It isn't easy to do. I wound up putting a thin wooden shim (packs are available at any Home Depot etc.) under each end of the door. The shim won't go all the way in, but I wedged it as tight as possible slanted in to the gap under the door, then stuck a 3/4" peel and stick felt pad which I had cut in half and pushed it tight up against the bottom edge of the door so that when the trim rested on the pad/shim it was the correct height at that point. Very quick and easy.

Then the only item left to do was line it up correctly horizontally. This was tougher, as you are working from a curve at the bottom and have to flip the trim up and down several times, trying to get it to hit at the right spot, and the curved edge makes it a pain. And you can't see both ends at the same time. In the end I eyeballed it and got 3 out of the 4 pieces as close as possible.

Unfortunately the driver's side door is about 1 mm too far to the right. It's the correct 1mm distance to the edge of the door next to rear door, but with the door/trim discrepancies that leaves a squinch more than 2mm of paint showing at the front edge. It does makes a difference when all other pieces are a better fit. It's not ugly and others I showed it too didn't notice at all, and said it was fine. In the end if it irritates me enough I'll get another set, replace that piece, and sell the others to anyone who messes up their install and need to redo one or more pieces.

In the end it looks really good, well worth the money. The negative now is that I also purchased the Dawn side molding for the middle of the doors, and with both up(the upper taped on) it looks kind of cluttered, so I'm not sure if I'm going to use it.

I installed mine today, yeah. Turned out to be easier to install than I thought and they do look sharp.

I bought my Prius V new in October and these moldings were already on the the vehicle. I thought they were standard with the ATP and didn't pay too much attention to it till I started looking around at other Prius V's and didn't see the moldings on any of them. Now I wonder who put them on and why? By the way, they look really nice on Winter Grey Metallic.
