Thank you for this thread & valuable info..
Now I'm on the ole "fence" about buyin' these things for my 2010.

Hopefully, they corrected the 2 defects.
I'm looking forward to the answers you get from WT.

    Thanks Again,
    BigBen

There are no defects! There never were, How can so many be wrong!
Get the right mat for what you need it to do!
If you want to get in your car with ten pounds of snow on your boots
then get the allweather mats! I plan on using these all year around.
They fit great and look nice.Quality product,Made right here in the USA!

Maybe "defect" is not the correct term. It's a concious design decision.
    The ad for Weathertech states:
    WeatherTech Automotive Accessories - FloorLiner

"FloorLiner™ DigitalFit® accurately and completely lines the interior carpet giving "absolute interior protection™"

Judgeless' photos show that, while the fit might be accurate, and the lining "complete", it's far from "absolute interior protection™" if holes made through the mats and a low perimeter ridge allow snow/water/mud/crud to get through or over them.

The photos speak for themselves. It's hard to argue with what you're seeing.

As I had stated, the WT's look nicer and have a more quality feel. They do not, however, protect the carpeting nearly as well as the Husky's under the same (demonstrated) circumstances. For those of us in the rainy/snowy areas this is a serious consideration.

Maybe if Toyota didn't use so cheap/thin a carpet, it would be less an issue. We can only figure that Toyota made a design decision on basis of cost or weight....

    Another statement from their website:

"Once fluids become trapped in the reservoir, away from shoes and clothing, they are easily removed from the WeatherTech® FloorLiner™DigitalFit®over the door sill...no muss-no fuss!"

Given the 2 holes in the driver's side mat and the low perimeter, how likely are the abovementioned fluids to leak/run out when you remove the mat to dump them?

I am hoping a rep from MacNeil/WeatherTech jumps into the discussion sometime soon.

I sent them an email a year ago with pictures. I posted links to this thread. They never responded. I think they got too big to fast. Quality went down as well as customer service.

Sort of at odds with this quote from the website:

"Our mission is quite simple at MacNeil Automotive Products Limited. We strive to continually exceed our customers expectations, and it shows not only in every product that wears the WeatherTech brand, but in our staff as well!"

It seems that they are not in sync with their mission statement.

It appears that the liners work very well for many people but there are cases where the liners are not the best choice. I would be hesitant to purchase the mats if I lives in areas that receive heavy snow because of the potential for tracking large amounts of water into the car and the shallow "pan" depth. Sharp turns, parking on hills, or being very overweight could cause the melted water to pour out at a low section of the rim and leak onto the carpets as is evidenced by Judgeless' pictures.

I do not have to contend with much snow so the liners work amazingly well for me. I do a lot of outdoor work as a land manager for nature preserves and the liners have protected my carpets such that they still appear brand new in areas protected by the liners. I think the WeatherTech liners look MUCH better than the Husky units. That is a big driver for my decision to purchase them.

In the summary, I think the WeatherTech units are fantastic and I would purchase them again. If I lived in Minnesota or Alaska I would consider the Husky units and looks be damned. In those situations, protection is the #1 goal. It is my hope that WeatherTech will become aware of these complaints and improve their product. Thanks for providing us with your valuable input, Judgeless. While some may not like to hear it, I think it is very helpful.

I have Weathertech on my two other cars and 5 previous others and now i wish i knew about Husky as they are half the cost and just as good quality and look just as good. Every time i had to purchase a set of Weathertech i always hated the cost of them and found them to be like other name brand overrated and overpriced items in life.

For my snowy needs the Husky mats are perfect and don't see why i would pay double anymore for Weathertech.

I also love the fact that Husky uses the hard teeth to bite the carpet and not move and no need for hooks. I can now keep my factory mats in the car in the hook and just throw the Husky over them.

My opinion? I went with the average rating of users on this forum and their great info on streetsideauto and the coupon code and got the Husky front and rear set for $89.99 shipped :p Had spare change to get the trunk mat also for what i would have paid Weathertech just for the front mats alone. my2cents

I purchased a set of Weathertech mats via Priuschat for my '11 Prius in Grey. I am very satisfied with them. This vehicle is not my truck; I try to kick off any snow on my shoes/boots before I enter the car. What snow I do bring into the car is captured by the mats. The mats fit well and the floor mats hooks aren't really necessary but serve as a good backup retaining device. I like the looks and the construction of the mats. Just my 3 cents...

They are called WeatherTech mats for a reason. There purpose is to protect your car from the elements. I kick the snow off my shoes also. This still happens because of a design flaw.

I sure hope all these people that love these mats with less than 5 posts are not WeatherTech employees. There is no way anyone that lives in an area with snow will be happy with these mats.

Well excuse me for offering my opinion. I just bought the car last month, I guess I should have 1,000's of posts by now. I get it, you don't like them. Fine. Don't buy another set.

I will not buy another set and I would like others to know what to expect if you get water on these mats. If someone posted these pictures before I purchase them I would not own them now.

Again I am shocked when people claim they are the best thing since sliced bread. It makes me think Weather Tech changed the design. No one has posted proof that the design changed. They all seem to have the low border.

Who shit in your cornflakes? Nothing in life is perfect. Why aren't you bitching to Toyota that you spent over 25 large on a Prius and it didn't even come with floor mats?

Why didn't you send them back? Why aren't you complaining to Danny? He sells them here. If they're so damn terrible, you should make it your life's work to have them removed from the PriusChat Shop.

So what is the perfect floormat? Which one doesn't leak around the fuel access release? I'm sure you must have a set.

I said that I was satisfied with them. I didn't say they were perfect or the greatest thing since sliced bread. They're f ing floormats for God's sake. Get a life dude.

Now you can flame on all you want. From this point on you're on ignore.

Ok, just got back from a water cooler meeting.
Me and the guys were talking, and we could not come up with what this
Really is about, some said stinker(someone who is very difficult)
some said operater error! some said he bought the wrong item for his
intended use and just can't live with it!
We all came away from the meeting that it might be a little of each?

Operator error? Are you saying I am using my floor mats wrong?

Intended use? I purchased the WeatherTech floor mat to protect the carpet from water, mud and snow.
