In for 1, color=070 Blizzard Pearl. What's the "Express mail holding for pickup" shipping choice is all about? A bit confusing, so I just chose Priority Mail hopefully store will automatically use the fastest shipping method to northern CA. Thanks.

I thought one of the local members will look at the first set of mirrors in person and let us know whether it's satisfactory. I guess we just can't wait, can we? :)

I'm comfortable that CivicSky's, Sigma's (Grazio's), and Nigel's lights are all made in the same factory because I think they are too new for there to be another copy-cat source. I could be wrong, but I doubt a visual inspection by a local member would tell me anything different.

Seems like they pilot/image lights come on before you turn on the parking lights in your video (and stay on even though you turn off the parking lights). Did you wire them differently?

The video says "Acc. On" and it acts like it is wired to an accessory wire. I may wire mine to the fog lights -- haven't decided yet.

I connected mine along with the parking lights because they are not much visible during the day (unlike DRL). Anyone figures out the dome lights wires under the dash?

I haven't quite figured out what to do with the courtesy light wiring yet.

I would think that there would be a wire under the dash, probably from a deeply-buried ECU, that activates the interior lights when you approach the car. At some point, I will get the wiring diagrams and see what I can find. But, to me, having it come on just as a welcome light seems kind of pointless because I would already be standing at the door.

There are a few other options, but none seem perfect. Tying into the dome light also isn't that appealing because I wouldn't want it to come on whenever the dome light is on. It would be easiest just to connect it to the door puddle light. I'm still not sure what benefit that would offer either. Or maybe I will connect it to the fog lights and the front light to the parking lights.

I will probably wait and see just how bright each of the lights are, etc., then figure something out.

Yes, there must be a wire that controls the dome under the dash. I'm sure if someone is willing to take off the ceiling lining, you should be able to find it. But when you said, "... having it come on just as a welcome light seems kind of pointless because I would already be standing at the door." Isn't it the whole reason for having those lights is to shine up the ground and "welcome" you the same way a dome light does for the interior?

Why would it be in the ceiling lining?

Anyway, I was just experimenting. If we found that wire, it looks like the coutesy light would only come on if the doors are locked and you are within arms-length of the door. I would guess that my hand would be on the handle by the time the light is fully lit, judging by the video. Now I guess there could be an advantage to the passenger. Plus, I don't think it would not come on when you exit -- it would be triggered by the keyless entry sensors.

Again, I haven't decided how exactly to wire the thing yet...

A note to Nigel and all potential buys. I read somewhere that Nigel's lights have only 4 wires. All 3 lights share a common ground. THIS IS A BIG NO NO!!!! It must have 5 wires like CivicSky's lights. Let me explain.

The turn signal (amber) and side marker lights (white) can share a common ground. The amber has it's own +12v connected to the turn signal. The white has it's own +12v connected to either acc or ign-on for DRL or parking lights as side marker lights..

The entry lights must have its own 12v+ and ground. Almost all car's dome lights are ground triggered. The + wire on the LED must be wired to constant 12V+. The ground wire is connected to the dome light wire. When you open the door, the car's BCM send a ground signal to the interior lights.
Wiring to the LEDs to the light on the door is not a good idea. That light only lights up when you open your door, not when you unlock the door.

Good point. He probably wired it differently from CivicSky and runs it like a DRL of some sort.

Yeah but the puddle lamps were designed with remote keyless entry in mind and not SKS. With keyless entry, you would unlock the car a reasonable distance away, at which point the puddle lamps would illuminate and you can see what's on the ground as you approach the car so you don't step in poo or something.

It'll come on when you turn off the car since the dome/personal lights come on when the car is shut off.

    Nigel,

Just placed my order for Sandy Beach Metallic. Thanks for your help.

I said that based on what I'm seeing on Nigel's website. Maybe my eyes aren't seeing a black wire in with the red and blue wires.

Which means there must be a second ground wire. The dark background is probably just hidding it.

Unless that is what you want.... I never use my fob buttons, so unlocking and opening happen at almost the same time. Plus it would be easier to wire.

That part is fine. What I would like to cure is having the mirror courtesy lights come on when a dome light is turned on manually.

What I was trying to say was to trace the dome light wires from the ceiling lining to the source under the dash. I didn't mean the source was being located somewhere inside the lining. Anyways, let's focus on getting those lights first (at least for most members on the forum because I already got mine!)

Yes, there is a black wire between the red and blue wires (Blue / Black / Red). Mine is slightly different though. (Blue / Red / Black)

I know your's do. Nigel's may (and should), but it would have helped if Nigel's picture had been taken using a neutral background like yours. Again, we may not know until they arrive.

The entry lights will illuminate when you get close to the vehicle. So even if you don't use the remote to unlock the doors, it's more beneficial to to light up the entry lights when you get near the doors instead of opening the door.

My range is like 2 feet, so the interior lights turn on at the same time I touch the handle, thus causing my lights to flash. Then I'm usually stepping in my car before the interior lights are fully illuminated. I was trying to figure out how the courtesy light could be beneficial unless you have a longer range or you take your time getting into the car. But I see you and CivicSky are in Cali, so getting in out of the elements may not be as urgent to you. :D
