I'm writing a program in Java, and I am using different engine types. I need to select 2 variables for each type of engine that I listed that are unique to that engine type. For example, diesel fuel is unique to diesels. Any other suggestions? I need 2 unique characteristics for each engine type. Thanks

All rotary engines I am aware of are 4 stroke engines.

That said, Apex Seals are unique to rotaries, which also have no valve train.
Rotary engines burn oil by design, like two strokes.

diesels don't have spark plugs - combustion is triggered by high compression. Think it's called an adiabatic cycle.

so no spark plugs, no distributor, no timing.

rotaries have a rotor instead of pistons

diesels can be two or four stroke

Diesels have timing. The start, rate and duration of injection is carefully timed. They run like crap or don't run if it isn't right.

    diesels timing is crucial.

Other things unique to new diesels are SCR yes it is used at power plants too.

    Algae diesel is unique

Piezo injectors are uniuque, 30,000psi ++ injction systems are unique. High strength parts are unique, compressions release brake are unique and I can go on and on.
