    ^^ true, ZenMachine.

But 2/2010 was a very bad month for car sales. Hybrids are still less than 3% of total sales in the US I think. Now that the Japanese subsidy of Prius has elapsed I imagine another 10-20k Prius a month can be made available to the US. Just in time for high petrol prices :)

The only downside is PC getting flooded with people whining that used Prius prices are outrageous, unfair, proof that hybrids cannot transport America blah, blah, blah.

Yeah, it was bad for Toyota but not so bad for everyone else. I think the stop sale that began end of 1/2010 didn't help (Autoblog).

Thanks for the charts! Interesting to see Yaris and Venza sales falling while Sienna sales going up.

I heard there are seekret Toyota junkyards in the Mojave desert with MOUNTAINS of Prius with dead batteries.

Like Sudbury, only much worse. Maybe tpfun can provide more details.

Thanks. It's neat to see the chronology chart.

It's nice to see the detailed data and ratios. It creates a much better understanding of the hybrid market.

    I wonder ...
When Toyota hybrid sales hit 10,000,000, will tpfun's head explode ?

    Stay tuned ...
Hopefully Volt sales will have reached 50k by then.

Toyota's entire lineup will end up hybridized so that's no surprise but the Prius will not reach 10,000,000 by 2020.

The reason I didn't buy another Toyota earlier is that my other Toyotas were basically running the same with no drop in MPG, even at 200k miles, so there wasn't an incentive to purchase another vehicle until one of my vehicles was destroyed in an accident.

Also, I did switch to Honda for a while. Those are nice cars too. Still going strong.
