One thing I miss about my previous Prius was the color display. Prius in Japan have them still!

That is the v, and the displays are the same for the US models I believe.

I feel you. That's one reason why I kept my second generation.

That car looks like a Prius V, not our gen2 liftback.

The V when it starts selling here will have a more colourful display than ours has. You can have it too.

Back in the 80's we had color monitors (terminals). They were amber. Or green. Or white.

I like the Japanese dash display but I'm not sure I even want the power flow schematic as I don't even look at it any more. Real, useful, accurate instrumentation would be welcome.

Agreed. I want to make such a package. You can fake it using onboard computers but I'm too old and have too many kids to keep doing that.

Strictly speaking, white and black are not colors :p

I like the Prius III display since it is where the other gauges are, but some extra colors wouldn't hurt.

Black isn't. White is actually the combination of all visible colors.
(Talking about displays, which use additive, or light colors; not paints, which are pigments or subtractive colors, where black is the combination of all colors).

Art teachers might disagree, but you can't argue with physics.

Okay, this is now officially off-topic. Sorry.

So ... a black Prius v with a white interior would be kind of .... creepy.

    There :focus:

We will have the V here, but Japan will also have the 3rd row with Litium-ion battery option for about $7K more. The real question is why don't we have a hybrid minivan in the US like they have had for years in Japan!

At least you get a Toyota Minivan! Why did the Previa retreat from the European market when the first version with hybrid technology came out?

    > nerfer I'm talking about colors, not how colors are rendered on most screens. BTW. I think both white and black are colors since I see colors as a grouping, not as a property.
