HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

    :D:D:D:D

To commemorate St. Patrick's Day I decided to install the JDM Mirror Covers with the 3 Way Lighting (Flash/Postion/Courtesy) Options !!!

I received the unpainted pair from CivicSky (Thanks CivicSky) on 03-04-11.

I wanted to try something different so I sent in the complete housing (door mirror assembly/mirror assembly arm/and the covers to be color matched and painted !!!

    Here are my pictures

    03-04-11

    Straight from Hong Kong !!!

Then on 03-14-11 I went to the great folks at Imperial Body Shop, in La Habra, So Cal ... They have done great things on my first Project (my 2004 Scion) and so it was natural to take these bad boys to them !!!

Then I received the call from Grigor (The Owner of Imperial Body Shop) that they were complete !!!

The mirror cover comparisons (JDM on top, USDM on bottom)

Imperial Body Shop did a thorough paint job and the match is outstanding !!! They painted inside the housing as well !!!

    Goodbye Black Housings !!!

    More great shots ...

As you can see the perfect fitment of these JDM Mirror Flasher Covers coupled with the outstanding paint match was right on target !!!

I don't have a DIY regarding the wiring as there is already a thread on here started by CivicSky ... Thanks to CivicSky and others who have provided the thorough DIY !!!

Here's the link to that post ...

Many Many thanks again to CivicSky for setting up the importation of this great product !!!

Many Many thanks to those who contributed to the DIY installation instructions !!! Thanks to you guys who have helped to make installation a breeze !!!

And finally thanks to the great folks at Imperial Body Shop in La Habra, So Cal for a Blizzard Pearl Match job done perfect !!!

Looks awesome. I was waiting for someone to color-code the stalks as the mismatch annoys me. Fortunately, my car is black lol! Still waiting for my turn signal mirrors.

I notice you have the black Five Star Axis novelty plate, which looks really cool. If the cops ever force you to go back to using a front license plate, you might want to white-out the license plate holder.

Well it at least looks like I know where I'll be turning to when it comes time to repaint the front of my car when the body kit goes on. They do great work it looks like. I'm only assuming this is the same place that painted your Five Axis kit? May have to have my mirrors done as well. Looks great man.

    HEY PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

    :):):):)

    HEY 32COLORS !!!

Yes it was about time I completed that project !!! I was running half of the stalk painted for so long ... it was time to get it completed !!! I am very happy with how it came out, real clean looking and brighter !!!

I do like the Five Axis front plate, so much nicer than the regular tags. I should've had Imperial Body Shop paint those too !!! Oh well ... next project hehehehe !!!

    HEY SHAWN !!!

Yes if you need anything painted, the folks at Imperial Body Shop are awesome, they can also set you up if you would like to have Clear Bra Protection film added too, to protect your investment !!!

Sounds like you're gonna have to come down and leave your ride here with me for some *new* projects !!!

Hope you are all having a great weekend !!!

    Rodney,
Glad to see how they turn out! You did a very good job making your car stand out from the crowd! Thanks for showing us how the package was like when it arrived. I didn't have a chance to see it although she said she put tons of padding into the box. Now, I'm so proud of my mom who did the packing and mailing by herself. The next time I go back Hong Kong, maybe I should bring a luggage full of lights and sell them for big bucks! Despite of the huge demand, I'm letting Danny to take care of the ordering and for sale on his PC store. Hurry up, Danny!

So, where did you get your Kaira kit from? I've decided to get the whole kit with that rear wing, instead of the Kenstyle now, but it's taking just as long to get a quote thru Carson as the Kenstyle one did that took months...

I am currently running the Five Axis kit. You can purchase it through Five Axis or their distributors at www.fivead.net.

If you are looking to purchase the Tommy Kaira kit, please keep us updated with your progress !!!

For those So Cal Folks ...

Sorry, I was asking Shawn cause he was talking about when he gets his kit and has to get it painted, etc.... I hounded Carson, starting in November, for a price on the Kenstyle kit, and finally got one maybe the first of this month (March)... Then, after searching for wings and kits and stuff, I ran across this kit:

which looks very much like the Audi R8 in front (which I love):

Anyhow, mine will have the Lexus emblems that I ordered:

If I went without the emblem on the front, I would use this version of the front:

And, of course, I'm gonna get Kaira's wild rear wing to finish it all off:

and I'm contemplating the hood spoiler:

Anyhow, I was gonna start a thread on it whenever I got closer to getting a price on the whole thing where I could order it....so didn't mean to hijack your thread! I thought Shawn was the one who ordered some Kaira stuff, so wondered who his source/supplier was (in case I get tired of waiting for Carson to get it, or if I feel maybe I should get a 2nd opinion --- for a better price or whatever)... Peace!

Will you stop already!?! At least until I get back to work and get some money coming in. LOL! Looks awesome. Did they say if there stuff is being changed a bit to fit US spec cars? I thought someone early on was having clearance issues with the strut brace which is why I went with Tanabe. I'd love and prefer to have all Cusco as it of course sticks to my "blue" theme to wear Tanabe's stuff is red. If anything, I can contact them direct too. I also got the CarID carbon fiber samples today. Will bring them to the meet and see what you think. Can't decide between black/blue or just the dark blue. Both look really good.

If you're really wanting either of those kits I can certainly try and help you. Call Darkside Motoring @ 818-349-6221. They are in Chatsworth and have done a few Prii. Since you're here in So. Cal it will make it easier. The main guy who used to do all the importing for Carson is gone. As you've figured out, pretty much a waste over there anymore. I am on the fence about the Silk Blaze kit and just sticking local and doing the Five Axis kit. May end up combining the two and make a one off as I really like the front lip for the Five Axis, but like the sides and rear plus wing and exhaust of the Blaze. Decisions, decisions... The Blaze kit is going to be expensive in comparison and said it could take 3-4 months to get as most shops out there do the kit as they're ordered because they don't have the space to keep alot on hand. Hope this helps.

I was running the Cusco STB for a bit... and yes, there are clearance issues with the brake reserve. The STB still fits, but you will have to find another location to mount the reserve (mine was temporarily zip-tied). I was told that Cusco had no intentions of making changes for the USDM Prius (but that was over a year ago).
The Power Brace is very nice though...

I had a feeling that was you who had it. Will have to stop in and chat them up. Would love to switch to their stuff but don't want to have to modify anything in that respect.

    HEY SHAWN !!!

    I can't stop, this is addicting !!!

As far as changes for the US Spec Cars, I honestly do not know. The only product that I have read that does need modification is the STB. The Center Power Brace needs no modification.

Can't wait to see the CarID samples you received, I'm sure it's a tough decision !!!

The *Other* stuff won't be ready in time for the meet unfortunately ... but will definitely be ready in time for Toyotafest / TORC !!!

    SEE YA REAL SOON !!!
