Great looking mods. I am jealous of the drop and the rims. Everything goes together really well. It looks well planned, which I'm sure it was.

I find it ironic, though, that when tail lights were red, all the tuners got clear, and now that they are clear, the tuners want red again. Just an observation.

Ha ha! That's a GREAT comment about the tail-lights. Mid to late 90s it was all about going clear - you are right! It's funny, going red on a Prius looks custom because of those HUGE clear tail-lights Toyota gives us..Actually, I just want to go red because I think the car will look more "streamlined" I guess. With the black paint and gunmetal wheels, the clear tails "stand-out" even more than before.

Oh yeah - one more comment - thanks for saying "everything goes together really well" and "It looks well planned". Because, yes, it was planned, and a lot of thought went into it. If you are really a custom car enthusiast, you can tell a car that was well planned where the owner did his/her research a part from a someone who just rolled into a rim shop and got the special for the day...just a thought:)

    Great looking Prius!

I am probably going to get some Teins soon as I decided on just picking up a set of 17" Prius Pkg V wheels instead of going aftermarket. How much did Pann cost for the springs installed?

I am also in San Diego and I have a recommendation for the red tails: SDTint in Sorrento Valley. They did a great job for me, and initially I was going to do the AirBlue window film as well.

Here is a shot of mine with cutouts that they did for the turn and reverse lights.

It has been about 6 months since the taillight film was installed and its holding up great.

Sorry for the poor quality pic.

Hello - thanks for the comments. Yes, I PM'd you before and you gave me that recommendation - thanks again! I have talked to those guys and they seem very professional. I just have to find the time to leave my car with them for a couple of hours. Your tail-lights look great so I would go with a similar setup.

I was VERY pleased with the service from Pann. I can't remember the price of the springs but they beat everybody - I want to say somewhere in the 160s??? can't remember exactly though. Installation fee was also reasonable. The way it works is you buy the parts from Pann and then get them installed at "Cartune". It's all owned by the same guy. Cartune is connected right next to Pann (same building) - it is a full service shop with a few bays - very professional and legit - talk to BJ at Cartune. They also installed KW coilovers on my brother's 2008 M5 and it came out great...

When you put new wheels on do you have to do anything with the TPMS?
Calibrate it or does it just work with the wheels?

TPMS works just fine with the new wheels ...The wheel shop transferred over the stock TPMS to the new wheels - no problem.

Wow! very exciting! You are going to love them - they transform the look of the car - my pics don't really do them justice - hard to really capture it on camera.

What color is your prius? What finish did you get on the wheels?

Be sure to post pics after install!!! Congrats:D

Metallic Blue, Gun Metal finish. I think they look great. Not the usual style wheel or color.

I've been eyeing these S6:F for months now. I always thought the R6:F were a better look but never see them as a option. Did you ever look into them as a option when you were planning?

I think almost everyone has got either the 18 or 19 inch Five Ad rims. Anyone get the 17 inch?
I am trying to figure out which size I can switch over to and have the least effect on fuel economy.

Anyone see a significant change in the MPG's after installing the 18 inch rims?

yes I looked at the R, but the F is just so different and i like the look. Maybe because the 5ad Prius uses them, idk. I cant get the TPMS lite to shut off. I tried the reset as per the manual. Anybody know how to do it?

    Just to put into perspective:

The cost of the rims, labor to mount, tires, and maybe another set of TMPS pays the mileage hit over many many times.

Consider 3mpg hit bringing 50mpg down to 47mpg: If you travel 16000miles/year @ $3.50 per gallon............it costs $71 more to run the heavier rims per year. So unless you want to burn less gas out of principal, cost should not be the deciding factor. Every Prius owner buys rims for cosmetic reasons so why not get the set you enjoy the most?

I hear where you are coming from. I guess I am partly thinking about the 17's as I don't want to lower the car and I feel the wheel gap will be less with the 17's than the 18 or 19's. It seems that most people have put 18's on their Prius and I figured there may be a reason for choosing the 18 over the 17 inch rim.
