Four weeks ago today I took possession of my 2010 Prius. So far I love it! I have found the car to be comfortable, pleasurable to drive, and really one of the better cars that I have owned. Though I haven't quite gotten into the "Pulse and Glide" technique, I'm getting pretty good gas mileage even with the colder weather we're currently experiencing in the mid-Atlantic.

I did my first official "Fuelly" tracked fill up today, and it came in at 47.7 MPG. Not as good as a lot of folks on PC, but pretty respectable nonetheless.

I have a serious problem thinking of how I would ever buy another car that receives less than 40-45 MPG. Luckily, based on the longevity that a lot of PC members have described, I shouldn't have to think about another new vehicle for a really LONG time.

Unfortunately, I think you're right! Unlike other purchases, I haven't had a minute of buyer's remorse.

I've had mine two months now and feel the same way. I am concerned about the durability of the seats and door panels. Can't wait for the Wet Okole seat covers... Now if my wife will just take back her mini-van so I can drive it more...

I would buy the same car again in a heartbeat. As for the ATP, I really like the DRCC and I use it often. So far I haven't had much use for the LKA, though I tend to turn it on when using the DRCC. As for the parking, so far I haven't been in any precarious parking situations, so I have only used it to show off to friends and family.

    47 MPG ??!!

The air in your tires is low. The dealer delivered mine with 25lbs so it would have a smooth test ride.

My door says it should be 35 and 33 (rear) I believe. I filled the tires up and my mileage went up to over 50.

    Just a "Heads up." :welcome:

    Enjoy your car.

I'm going into week 3. My previous ride was a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that has been retired to weekend duty. The two couldn't be more different. The one and only reason I bought the Prius was for the gas milage because I moved and my commute went from 20 miles to 60 miles. Oddly, I'm starting to really like the car. The challenge of trying to keep the mpg high and get the pulse and glide technique down have made driving interesting again. And, it can be a spunky little ride when you aren't concerned about burning gas. It's just a different state of mind when you realize you are driving a car that easily gets over 40mpg and it actually goes when you press the gas pedal (in power mode). First tank was probably around 45 mpg (guesstimate). My second tank was measured at the pump at 47mpg. Halfway through my third tank and because of all the rain I may be back down around 45mpg again. Hopefully after I fill the tires I'll be up around 50 on the fourth tank.

I have had my 2011 for a little over a month now and just love it. I'm getting 52.8 miles per gallon, what a change from my 2002 M3. Love the quiet ride, just hear the wind rushing by, and nobody wants to race me at every stoplight.

Mid tank I changed my pressure to 42/40 per many posts on the forum. We will see how that goes.

In other news, one month and one day in to ownership and I received a letter from the Dealership telling me that my credit was denied. Pretty funny since I already have my title, tags, and my first TFS account statement. Turned out to be an error, dealership finance guy said they went to everyone as a result of a glitch.

That is interesting. I did not finance mine in 2009 and got one of those letters telling me that my credit was denied. The finance guy called the next day to apologize. They must have "glitches" quite often :)

I have had my Prius Model V for a month and a half, and really love. A clerk at a convenience store saw it and told me "You drive a young man's car". I don't know if it's a compliment or not given my senior status.

No buyers remorse at all. I wonder if Charlie Sheen ever has buyers remorse??

I had mine not even a month yet...! I love it everyday I drive it daily commute 120+ miles round trip. I got over 50+ miles on my 1st tankful. I check the tire pressure the next day I bought the Prius, it was all around 36 psi. I reset it back to factory 35/33 and til today it ride like a dream.

I purchased my 2011 Prius III on Thursday, March 24. I flew to Washington DC area as I could not find a fair price at any dealership in FL where I live. Purchased from Fitzgerald AutoMall and the experience at the dealership was excellent, priced great relative to FL (Naples dealer, Germain Toyota, charging $2999 over MSRP plus lots of useless overprice dealer add-ons). Drove home from Maryland and averaged about 47mpg.
I'm extremely pleased with the Prius! It's far more fun to drive than I expected and the fuel savings over the Mercedes I'm selling is substantial.
What I find interesting is that I thought I was making a sacrifice to "go green" and stop feeding the oil company executives.
I was missing the point - it's a great car AND it cost less than the OPTIONS on my last Porsche cost!!!!
Took me a while to wake up, but boy am I pleased with this decision.
Now, to get the rest of the USA to wake up!

Yeah, it is funny that people think the Prius is a sacrifice, a step down from what they are currently driving. The Prius is a very capable, technologically advanced car. I love it.

I have a dream: I will take a long drive here in East Texas and see more hybrids than pick-up trucks. Will it ever happen?
