Hi all, I just moved to "sunny?" San Diego and need recommendations for a reputable Toyota dealership for maintenance.

I have a 2009 Prius which turned 15000 miles on my way driving here from Texas. When it went a little passed 15000 miles, the "maintenance required" light came on. I thought it is for regular maintenance.

This morning, I noticed oil stains on the cover where the parking brake pedal is. I looked closer and noticed that the parking brake pedal arm area seems oily too.

    Appreciate y'all's recommendations.

    TIA! Cool

I had the same exact stains on the kick panel next to the parking brake. I noticed them when the car was only a couple of months old. I thought this was a problem but after looking under the dash from every possible angle, I realized there was just too much grease on the parking brake mechanism and the excess had dripped off. After giving the area a good cleaning, there has been no further staining.

Since we both have 09's, maybe we are both the victims of a new guy on the assembly line being a little overzealous about lubing the parking brake.

Hey Cool- Don't know where you are located in San Diego but I take my car to Alternative Automotive in Escondido. I have 15,000 miles on my car also so I have only had 5K services. I do the air filters myself. If you make an appointment you are there for only 30-45 min for a 5K service. Here is their website Lexus, Toyota Repair & Service | Escondido, North San Diego, California

Koolingit, thanks for reassuring it might not be a big problem.

Silver bullit, thanks for your reply also. I am currently staying in North Clairemont area. I have the Star service so I may have two free services. That's why I am looking for a reputable dealership for the 15000 service.

    Welcome to San Diego,
I have a 2009 package 5 also (but left Texas 22 years ago for the Navy)
I'm sorry I can't help. I have only had the 5,10 and 15k services (oil and filter changes and 1 do it myself air filter change) I used Toyota of Chula Vista for the 3 oil changes, I live right behind them. They gave me the synthetic "upgrade" for free. You are close to Mossy Toyota and Kearny Mesa Toyota ( bought my last two Toyotas there but never had maintenance done there I live too far ).
I have a good mechanic in Chula Vista for my non Prius cars but I would not let him touch my Prius. So far, it seems super dependable and only requires minimal maintenance.
