I recently traded my 2010 Tundra :rip: at 14mpg :yield:and over the few weeks I have had my Prius I am averaging 55mpg:hail:. I have not taken a pic yet, it is barcelona red, solar roof, navigation pkg, back up camera, leather seats. Have had trucks for many years, but love the car.

Congrats on your new Prius and welcome to PriusChat.

    I've always liked Barcelona Red.

    Keep up the great MPGs.

Sounds real nice. I havs a 2011 4 in Grey. I love it. Wish I had the NAV. Little to pricey. How are you doing the 55MPG. Has it been warm for you? We have had 20-40 degree days which I think lowers the MPG.

The cold will effect the mpgs some, but driving habits have the most effect. I have had to learn how to drive this car, it is very sensitive to your right foot, anticipation of lights, coasting, etc. I have learned to drive by feel and sound to stay in the eco sweet spot to get better mpgs. If I really take it easy I can see 66-70mpgs.

I don't know what is going on. My best MPG came from my first fill. 48MPG. I have been really watching my speed. I stay around 69-70 on the highway which is 95% of my driving. I have around 2000 miles on my new 2011 so far but it seems my MPG have been going in the wrong direction. My highway drive is pretty flat so I can't figure it out. Any help??

    1. Let your car warm-up before you drive it first thing. (if you don't already)

    2. Pulse and glide.

    3. Stop driving 70 MPH until you get the Pulse and Glide down really good. (took me a week of practice)

    4. Use CC if it is flat, and stay around or below 65 MPH with it on.

    5. Don't use your brakes, unless you HAVE to!!!
