Prius IV: $26,550 - This adds (to Level III) leather interior trim; heated front seats with power lumbar support for the driver; water-repellant glass; PlasmaCluster ion generator in driver's vent to reduce odors, germs, and mold; automatically dimming mirror; three-door SmartKey system; and a handful of trim and lighting upgrades.

The three minute timer on the dust and pollen filter must be so the back pressure from 100% circulation through the filter doesn't overheat the blower motor.

I'm still not clear. Is the plasmacluster always on with the A/C and never on without the A/C?

Probably just marketing. If the dust gives off an offending odor, then it's probable that the ionizer helps settle down the odor, but it's not likely to work with all odors including diesel odor.

Not necessarily. It's not good to have 100% recirculation for a long period of time, for obvious reasons.

Well I'm not sure then. The Plasmacluster ionizer filter in Toyotas don't filter out anything (it's the dust & pollen filter behind the glovebox). They just send out charged ions and I would assume it's more of a "over time, they'll settle the dust and particles in the air" as opposed to an immediate response (e.g that of an air filter).
