DIY JDM style side mirrors combo lights (Signal+Parking+Courtesy lights)

Yeah I'm getting mine from Nigel. He has until the 18th to ship it to my door. If not, I'll be canceling the order and buy from eBay. It looks like someone bought one with white running light. I wonder who.

So is it your opinion that the e-bay ones are the same/similar to that ones that Nigel is selling? And Nigel wanted $190 for his set right?

 

Yes, it includes shipping and it's even cheaper if you pick up in person and the ones on ebay are unpainted. Good luck finding a place to get it painted for that cheap and hope they do a decent job.

 

Actually if the pictures are valid and the seller is telling the truth, in my case I won't need to paint as they are white. Sides, I found a site that sells the OEM paint in touch-up bottles and small cans of spray. If they need to be painted, no problem.

BTW, wasn't Nigel's unit 190 unpainted?

But yours is pearl white (Blizzard Pearl) and they aren't going to match at all. You don't need to be cheap over less than $80 (or $60 if you go with civicsky's supplier).

Perfect timing... If those are the same kits as the e-bay ones, I can see that that white color is not even close the BP.

I asked ebay seller a couple of questions. This was his reply:

Is it true that the color may be a little different in different countries?

 

$20 per pair is unusually cheap and sounds like they might be hand painting and not be using OEM paints.

 

I'm still trying to get my grasp on the whole set-up of the signal light/mirror cover thing. If you bought the covers with the lights from eBay, you'd STILL have to buy the JDM ENTIRE mirror set-up? You take off the front side of the JDM mirror, which has the lights on it, and you would put the eBay covers/lights in their place. Correct? The eBay cover/light things can't be put on just our stock mirrors? They have to go on some other aftermarket type of mirror that has lights built in? So, the eBay cover/light listing is just to provide a couple of extra bells and whistles than the lights on the JDM signal mirrors provide?

 

Thank you CivicSky for getting to that answer for me. Mine were shipped on April 6th. We'll see how long they take to get here.

 

The ones on eBay if you're referring to the same ones I am getting are just a bare plastic finish which is white. Not painted at all. If you would have seen Rodney's that he got from CivicSky you would have seen they were the same thing.

 

I didn't buy the whole housing, just the covers an lenses like everyone else. Just happen to be the factory JDM stuff long before the aftermarket stuff took off and became available. I would love to buy them at some point just to be different and add that extra bit of JDM parts to the car but just too many other things to spend that kind of money on for other things for the car. Some day....

 

So they got here in a week on the 13th. Look great! Won't get them installed until maybe next weekend. I went with the blue lights and will tie them in with the puddle lights. Looking forward to getting them done. Will post pics when they are done.
