One video mentioned recyclable and recoverable. What is the difference?

 

Interesting the overview of the driving modes. EV mode for neighbourhood driving.... well... typically when you come back from your commute you use the battery while driving at slow speed in the neighbourhood - so if the battery was not *really* full, you end up likely with 2-3 bars at most.
Which means that when you turn on the Prius (pressing immediately EV, otherwise the warm-up sequence start - they forget to mention this tiny detail in the video), it will not give you EV mode - so forget about being nice to the neighbours - not to mention that already getting into the car (slamming?) the doors, will wake them up.
And so much of making hybrids and EV cars making noises to make sure you don't kill somebody (like as if normal modern cars made all that noise and people where already not looking where they are walking...).

That said - it shows clearly the benefit of ECO mode in town - to exploit the hybrid architecture - using the electric motor with full torque at 0rpm and max efficiency to move the car, and then engage the ICE at a higher speed where the ICE can offer best efficiency.

The PWR mode for mountain driving, I agree - although you can simply press more gas in normal or ECO mode and that will do the same trick (though it is not yet clear whether other parameters of the ICE and MG2 management are affected - if not, just because you are asking for more power).
