This is really good advice, you're probably most of the way gone on the other 3 anyway.

I hated the stock Bridgestones that came on my car. I use the stock rims for Nokian snows, and now I'm running ADVAN AD08s (an extreme performance summer tire typically used by those who like to occassionally race their cars at the track, basically because I was curious to see how good Prius handling can be). I wouldn't recommend these tires, as the mileage hit is pretty large (but the car is incredibly stable at speed with them on). Additionally, the tires are relatively expensive and have a treadwear rating of 180. However, the car feels amazingly responsive as a result and it probably stops faster (and in less distance) than any other Prius on the face of the Earth since the grip is so massive.

Thanks, I ended up getting the Nokian eNTYRE...as my tires were down to 2/32" and would have had to order the Michelins at an extra $25 each. I like that they are a "green" tire, and low rolling. They are an all season, supposed to perform really well in heavy rain. we'll see.

Did you mean 195/60/15 tires or did you put on the one half inch taller 65 series tires? If you put on the taller ones I'd expect you odometer to be off by 2% and you mileage to be 2% lower than actual. I have not seen a recommendation for the taller tire. What was the reasoning? I was actually considering the 195/60/15 size. Their side walls are .3 inch shorter(than stock tires), are H speed rated, have one half inch wider tread than the stock size, and might have a little sportier handling.

Do you like the tires? How's the handling? I've seen these tires described as good handling, but definitely not sporty. Would you agree? Did you get the H speed rated or the S speed rated. I upgraded my car's tires to a sportier tire because my car was just felt too loose and did not seem to have any extra grip in reserve for an emergency in a corner. My car is much better, but I may be giving up some MPG (bought it used, with fleet tires, so I never got the low rolling resistance Goodyear Integrity experience).

    Thank, Dan

I'm just finishing off a set of Nokian WRG2's. Handling and mpg's okay but got less than 30K miles before hitting the wear bars.

Thinking about getting dedicated summer and winter tires so I can have tires with real tread depth every winter. Looking at Hydroedge vs Nokian eNTYRE for summer.

156,000 on my Michelin Harmony tires as of today but I have decided to replace with Michelin Energy Saver A/S whenever I do.

I LOVE the Harmonies, obviously, but want to try something different and the Energy Savers have a 65,000 mile warranty compared to the 80,000 of the Harmonies so I figure I can get at least 100K out of them easy. Plus I really have only read good things about them on this and other sites.

I have run Michelin on my vehicles for the past decade or so and have always been impressed not just pleased with them so am going to stick with them.

    Happy driving,
    Chris

I got my dealer to order Goodyear Fuel Max. I'm happy with the tires No changel in mpg, but the Goodyear Fuel Max were much less expensive than the Michelin Hydroedge (maybe $30 less per tire, I don't recall exactly). Very happy that I bought the tires from the dealer - reasonable price and free rotations. I don't think I'll buy from a tire store again - dealer is my one stop shop and provides me with a free loaner car when necessary even though I am very careful only to do manufacter's recommended service - no extras and when my HID lights started wigging out, the dealer cooperated with Toyota to replace them without charge - getting service at the dealer has been good for me.

Because the speedometer if off by about 2mph (fast) on the GenII Prius, putting the taller tire on would help to correct the factory speedo. :)

Bought my car used and it had the Goodyear's on it. Very soft sidewall I thought.
Just put Michilen Primacy MXV4's on, so far so good, great handling, good in light snow / slush, yes, I live in Michigan.... argh.

side note, one of my Michilens was a radial puller and had to be replaced.... very rare from Michilen.

I had put the michelin hydroedge green tires on my 06 Civic. They were noisy as hell. They werent great in wet weather either. I was glad to trade in Civic for my Prius IV.

I had the same experienced with Hydro Edge. Nice tire, but the noise! Maybe it was the car CR-V by Honda, but I don't think it was the car.Hal

We bought the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max. They are quieter than the Integrity's they replaced. We can't really tell any difference yet in mileage but still early. We went to Discount Tire which worked with me on the price and their road hazard warranty. I do like their service as they do free rotations and flat repair. They have a urgency and hunger for my business which I appreciate.

Yes , I went with the Fuel Max as well. One of few that can be pressed to cold max. of 51 lbs. Also great in snow and on ice and very quiet on pavement. Should last well if rotated on a regular basis? Hal

I have not tried them yet but they spec out nicely with a good treadwear and price. The reviews from owners is great. With all of the tire research i've been doing they would be near the topic of my list. :)

bought a set of nice shiny sticky Bridgestone Ecopia EP422s today. $92/ea + $15 install/disposal ea, - $70 (from total) discount from Costco. A bit more than I've spent usually on tires, but the first set of LRR. Haven't driven very far yet, and only have 5+ y/o end of life tires to compare to, but they're much better than those!

Total premium of $64 over the basic BF Goodrich Touring.
