    Hi
I took delivery of my new prius a few weeks ago and of course played around with the parking assist.
However in the last few days when I press the button to start the process I simply get a double beep and nothing more happens.
I called the dealer and they don't seem to know what it is and so have booked me in to take a look at it.

The problem is that they can't fit me in for over a week so I thought I'd ask if anyone else had experienced this and if so does anyone know the solution?
    Cheers
    Will...

Which button are you pressing, the IPA one on the lower dash or the PA one on the screen ?
The IPA one on the dash requires 1 press for parallel parking and 2 presses for reversing into a bay.
You also have to be travelling very slow for the IPA to work.

Have you tested both sides? If it doesn't work only on one side, it might be a defective sensor in which case it'll be replaced under warranty.

    Hi Lutchenko,

I experienced the same issue, and I believe it's a simple fix. Please follow the steps:

    1) Put your car in reverse
    2) Ensure that the IPA button on the top left hand corner (see pic, US version might be in the top right hand corner) is activated, with a yellow line next to the car icon.
    3) You can toggle the IPA button by pressing on it. That should fix the problem.

Also make sure you're going slow enough. The nav manual says 9 mph/15 kph or slower, and the shift lever not in P or R; else you get two beeps.

If you want to start the system while in R, then use the buttons on the screen, not the button for the pre-support system (which looks for a parking spot as you drive past it).

Well my man I would have to say you are an absolute legend.
That turns out to be exactly what the issue was.
I really appreciate your help, and I'll cancel my trip to the dealer

Many thanks to everyone who responded to my post, I must apologise for the delay in getting back to you all, I struggled to find where I'd made the post lol
