That'd be awesome. Makes me wish I had a Gen III. Better stock up on these Danny. I can easily see this as the #1 seller.

Thank you Guys/Gals for your comments.
We need to hear more to determine whether we would import these for sale.
These are plug-n-play. and retail price in Japanese domestic market is around 37,000 Japanese Yen.
    Retail link in Japan http://item.rakuten.co.jp/max-price/10007778/

Wasn't there a group buy on these same lights for around $200?

They're not the same lights and didn't have LED turn signals and white back up lights. This one is more similar to Bino's full LEDs but not exactly the same either.

A number of people commented that they like Bino's better than the group buy lights but couldn't afford it. This one is more expensive too.

I see the problem as this (for some, not all of course); I cannot give an answer yet because I do not know if the 2012 will be the model year the prius gets it's mid life refreshening. If it does, maybe it will get full led taillights. If it does I will not want these taillights. Maybe the plug in variant will and the 2012 will not. It's just too much of an unknown at this time for me to say I want them without knowing facts yet about the 2012's.

Once we all find out, and if no 2012 is going all led for taillights, I would love to install #3 blacked out black chrome as my first choice, #4 red chrome clear lens as my second choice.

That may be true as I've noticed that the Gen II got mid life refreshening on the taillights. However, if they did, it's hardly going to be different in terms of design. What did the Gen II have, smoked part at the top of the taillights? I doubt they're going to go with red lights like some of us want.

#1 here also looks too similar to current design (especially if you get rid of the amber turn signal bulb) and I don't see the point of switching out to that. It's better to stand out among the rest by going with red or blacked out lights (depending on the color of your car).

I doubt they will too, my point was they may or may not go all led. For me, that would be my main reason for going with these.

I confirmed this with the OP. The following six photos show the same #4 light (Clear Len/Red Chrome) lighted differently. The upper right hand corner photo shows the lamp with no light on.

    Which # light is this?

This threw me off but I assume No light on (far right) is brighter than Backup light only (far left) because they dimmed the room for the latter? Looks like #1 (Clear Len/Regular Chrome).
