Today was a horrible Easter!

    As long as we are going to keep this thread off topic. Whats the weather like where you guys are in Florida it has been perfect for last 1 1/2 months not to hot not to humid just perfect.

    The only reason this thread is still completely off topic is because the dealership isn't giving me any information. They called yesterday and talked to the boyfriend and he asked for the codes and they guy said he'd call back with them...well, didn't get the codes. They said the first time they hooked it up it showed 4 codes, then they used a different one and it only showed one code. I have no clue what's going on and seeing as how I don't have a vehicle I can't drive down there...and the LB won't take me there. He figured just wait for phone calls...

    Get the codes in writing from the dealer.

    soooo, i'm telling my neighbor about our easter fiasco, and she tells me her husband feinted and fell face first on the sidewalk. broken jaw, lost 3 teeth, 5 fractures to his face, blood leaking into his brain or something, and a concussion. ouch. but he's okay.

    Dang. What an Easter indeed.

    My father-in-law had a very similar thing happen to him when he was out walking. Stubbed his toe and did a face plant onto the concrete. He had brain hemorrhage which eventually lead to his death. His accident wasn't on Easter though.

    What a crappy dealer. Maybe one of you can be more assertive and demand the codes, in writing or not. Without them, we're flying blind.

    We've got numerous repair experts here (not me) who can judge whether the dealer is blowing smoke and/or doing unnecessary work/part replacement.

    I had a semi-crappy Easter too w/an apartment building sewage clog. :eek::( Yuck! But, I don't want to take this thread even more OT.

    Fortunately, I was home when it happened and when it happened again a few days (despite a professional who came to unclog). If I were on vacation and came back to this, my place would be REALLY gross.

    This is getting depressing with all of the personal injury stories. I didn't realize Easter is so perilous.

    This isn't looking good. LB won't drive MA to the dealer while Moe & Larry are waiting for Shemp to fix her car. Didn't anyone think to write down the codes?

    Melissa, based on things I've read I think bf is a pos. How far are you guys staying from the repair shop? There is no reason why he can't drive you down there. If I was you call dealer back on Monday and demand they give you the codes.
    Sorry all your guys had a craptastic Easter.

    MelissaAnne, get a hold of the dealer and get the DTC's. All of them. Its clear that your car has been improperly diagnosed. This is common when you have a tech that is too reliant on DTC's and Toyota diagnostic flow charts (which most of the time SUCK). If your HV ECU was indeed not the problem you should not be charged for the new part (they can send it back) or the labor to install it. If the dealer continues to give you the run-a-round feel free to supply me their contact info and ill see what i can get out of them.

    stefano through out the thread numerous members have told Melissa to get and post the codes and we'd give her our input. If you look for the other threads Melissa posted you'd see the members here offering support and assistance with her Prius concerns and problems. The only thing josh offered different was to call the shop because he is supposed to be a Prius tech.

    This is especially true when the 12 volt auxiliary battery goes bad which can cause all the ECUs to go nuts and throw DTCs that aren't real. If the tech didn't load test(and I don't mean check the voltage) battery first, then they screwed up.

    Going back to the beginning, the car stalled after aggressive driving. Subsequently, it made it to 24 mph, then coasted to a stop. Initial diagnosis was HV ECU caused failure "to switch from hybrid to gas". By inference, that suggests P0A0F and P3190/P3191 -- engine start failure, just like being out of gas, and only able to go a short way on battery before SoC got too low. We already knew that the car has chronic complaints about the catalytic converter/O2 sensors (P0420). The SFI system would be the place to start: does it have spark, fuel, air? Why on earth they would decide that it was a problem with the HV ECU is beyond me.

    With certain DTC's I would agree with testing the 12v. However this forum seems to always put blame on the 12v. We need to know the DTC's and go from there.
