Just bought a 2006 Prius with 48k miles on it and absolutely love it! Thinking of installing an EV switch. Recommendations on best site to buy it at and what results have users gotten? Thanks!

    Welcome to PriusChat.com Sir

In my 2 cents worth opinion - I say do not install the EV Mod ...

I thought about it, researched it and I finally said it wasn't worth the price to pay for the product and install.

    My 2 cents :)

I love mine. Just make sure your expectations are in line with the capabilities of the EV system. It will rarely, if ever save you gas. It will often cause you to burn MORE gas. Use it wisely, and it is worth having (I use mine to shuffle the cars around, or to keep the gas engine off when I KNOW it doesn't need to fire)..

i have the coastal mod. it's easy to install and uses the cc switch so you don't have to install ev switch. that being said, i never use it.

It's fun to have the control in some situations but it's not a big fuel saver. Yes I COULD get amazing mileage numbers going down my hill to the kids school by abusing it till the battery is low. But then I just have to repay that debt in fuel later, usually it's a LESS efficient approach.

does anyone know how to remove the EV switch and anything that might hinder the car due to the modification? I've been trying to search for a manual but everything seems overcomplicated and confusing...any help would be greatly appreciated!
