since obama has declined the photos to the world, osama's death is now classified as a conspiracy. we should have a new video released shortly to back this statement up. stay tuned.....:D

Knowing those two, they will just change subject and make childish comments! It Is amusing that they can't back anything that they write yet still open their mouth! Sad and pathetic at their attempts to insult any owners of Prius III to V!

What i mean is that when i take my car in for service, the service man readjust his seat to fit him...and then when i get it back, i have to readjust it. Being anal, i have the exact position ideal for me...so, it just sucks that i have to take so much time readjusting it just right! :p My previous cars, for the most part, have had memory seat which is wonderful.

So, yeah, minor complaint, but for the anal folks, it is a significant stressor! :D

Actually, for me, if financially feasible, i always buy the top end model, no matter what product it is...from cars to watches to guns. Why? I do this so that i don't regret missing a feature that i later need/want.

When did i ever force/push anyone to buy a V?? When asked or in a discussion like this, i state WHY I BOUGHT THE V FOR MYSELF, based on my needs. How hard is that to understand????

In fact, why don't you show me where i have put down a lesser Prius model without being provoked or by someone who put down the upper level Prius??? You see, REVHIGH and MACMASTER05 have shut their mouth when confronted with backing up their claims. I figure that you will do the same...but i hope differently.

Why would i be sad that a Prius II shares the same body as my Prius?? Does a Lexus ES350 Ultra-Lux ($48,000) owner feel bad that a based ES350 ($34,000) shares the same body and powertrain??

    Get it?

You are wrong. Lower your defenses and read my post again.

PS That was meant for you. Quote is very useful.

Waste of car and gas. The III would be a waste of money for me, and only the II and III fit within my budget.

Maybe this will help shed some light as to whether the upper level Prius packages are economy cars or luxury automobiles...

    Ever heard of Photoshop?
A picture may be worth a thousand words (or ten million very malleable pixels)...but anybody who has ever watched network TV on Sunday morning will tell you that a thousand words isn't worth much....
If somebody thinks he's still alive (or the moon landing was faked, or wrestling is real....) let them try to get him on the phone. :D

In as far as this wandersfrom the original question somewhat (Prius an Econobox?) I think that question has been pretty much ignored from the first pages of this Lebanese goat grab.
The overarching debate seems (to me) whether or not a G3-V---or v, or five, or whatever they're calling it this month is worth $11,000 more than a G3-II.
Clearly, to some folks it is.
    Others?
    Not so much.

It really depends on what you're wanting from your car in terms of value, efficiency, options, etc....and that's all very subjective.
    Entertaining as well.....

    Yugo GV Plus.

That's no econobox, it has a V in the model name, and a Plus.

Yes, the 13" wheels are a real step up from the 11" wheels and fit the Yugo body much better.

WELL I'm going to put my 5 cents here!! I saw Thai comments and read some of the other Toyoheads comments here and the point is clear ! yes the car is built even worse and provides less than an ECONOBOX ! the whole problem here is that the Prius is OVERPRICED !! actually all toyota cars are overpriced!! I went to a dealer days ago to check the Yaris 2010 2 door car for my cousin and was surprised to see a sticker price of $19K?? com'on you can buy a fully loaded 2011 elantra for $21.5K with navi, 17" rims and leather with 40MPG!. We all have to be all BLIND to not see that we paid a lot just to save some gas which is the only benefit and the reason I bought my Prius. Now I see my mistake If I could go back in time will pick definitely a Honda Fit or any other available nice cars on the market for $12K less and don't have to be dealing with Toyota hiding problems, horrible rattles, cheap construction, buttons in the dark, cheap leather, etc.. just to save in my case around 450 bucks a year in gas!!

Even the new 2012 plug in Prius is coming with the same Atari 2600 computer with the horrendous '80 fluorescent screen which supposed to be in color but I only see GREEN! Hey they don't care!!

That's what we have to get over with!! that we spent a lot of money in a car that is OVERPRICED and the company doesn't care what we say !!

I respect everyone decisions and preferences if some of you love the Prius is OK I'm happy for you but we have to be honest with ourselves

You can't cover the sun with a finger!!

PS. I sent years ago an email to Honda with some comments and suggestions about my accord they answered very polite and nice saying Thank You !! we will analyze your suggestions and combine them with other suggestions we have !!

I wrote same type of email to toyota with suggestions 2 years prior to the release of the 2010 Prius about many thing including the solar panel which should be maintaining at least the 12V battery and covering A/C load during operation, they responded me sorry we are not interested in you comments and we don't receive suggestions!! NICE!

    Lsegovic,

Hyundai and Kia vehicles have all been redesigned (for the most part)...so, their long term reliability/durability is a BIG question mark. Examples:

2011 Kia Sorento Investigated by Feds for Possible Transmission Failure

Feds Look Into Possible Steering Defect on 2010 Kia Soul

2011 Kia Sorento, 2010 Kia Soul Recalled for Possible Fire Hazard

2011 Hyundai Sonata Recalled for Defective Steering Column

2011 Hyundai Sonata To Be Recalled

There is an old saying...you get what you pay for....

And you actually think that Honda listened to you?! Really, are you that naive?! You think that a Honda Fit has no issues? You need to go to their forum...plenty of complaints! Road noise galore in the Fit! Vinyl feels better than lower end Hondas!

Maybe you need to use your whole hand...because the sun is frying your brain! :D

Your are WRONG Toyota right now passed to position below 20 and Hyundai went up #6 next to Honda #5 in quality, reliability and customer satisfaction. you think whatever you what!! in real life Toyota has gone down the pipe and Prius is not an exception!

and also you saying I'm making stuff up with the emails?? because you don't believe my experience? ok good for you! BYE

So how many miles do you have on your 2010 and how many times has it been in the shop for repairs?

    13800 miles
3 times for violent start (happened mostly in winter time) still what I do is let the car roll with EV and then when rolling turn take the EV out to start the ICE.
3 times for rattles (I don't complain anymore, like 6 main areas including now the sunroof)
3 times for leather sits broken parts (got replaced handles, back cupholder, etc) the last thing was over the weekend I noticed that the bottom part of the passenger sit completely came off! I was like 3 hours fixing that and still is loose is like a long plastic clip goes under the metal frame (looks like Prius 3 gets different leather sits than 4 and 5 I'm not sure)
1 time for break pads noise
1 time A/C smell ticking noise (Fixed later by myself, looks like big leaves got into the FAN motor and filter areas some were wet generating the smell and the other ones touching the fan generated the noise. I got into the fan area using a commercial vacuum and replaced the filter too! don;t know how the big leaves got there!)

(5K Service ) 1 time updated the software for the breaking delay problem and checked something with the inverter coolant leak.

I don't remember others but I had good luck before with other cars probably I was expecting too much from this one

If anything you've been unlucky with yours.

I had a wheel arch liner come loose (winter takes a toll) and a window need re-learning. But I did have some rattles occasionally, which seems like one of the main "cheapness" complaints about the Prius.

The III doesn't come with leather seats, yours must be aftermarket.
