05 Pkg 3 Amp?

    I say somewhere that all Prius facroy stereos have an amplifier. Is this true? It seems that only the JBL stereos would. Tomorrow I am planning on installing a sub in my 05 without JBL. I would love to be able to get a line level from a factory amp, but I think I will have to get it directly from the rear speaker...

    No, only the jbl system had an external amp and that was only for package 5 and higher. Pull the signal for your aftermarket amp from the rear speakers and you'll be fine.

    Its an older 800watt MTX. The sub is a Fosgate P2 8". I had 2 of them in my 01 Insight, but the prius really only has room for 1. (gotta have room for a double stroller!)
