118K and I have to make my first real reapairs.

    Well after 118K I have to make some real repairs. (First time other than bulbs being out)
    I found the driver side strut bearing is bad and ready to “pop†the center is pushing up on the edge.
    The struts are starting to really make the road able to be felt so I’m replacing all four along with the strut bearings and springs. ($447 with the front struts already assembled with the plate and spring)
    Both fog lights are cracked after I parked too close to a snow bank when they were hot ($65 Amazon)
    The water pump (gas side) is starting to leak ($49.00 Amazon)
    The inverter coolant pump is being replaced by the dealer this weekend.
    This week the driver’s door started acting up with the smart key. It wouldn’t open or beep, then would beep but not open, then back to no beep or open again. I checked the 12V battery and the fob battery after reading a few posts here. I found that the 12V showed only 11.8V so I replaced that, and the fob battery. No change, but it you play fonzy and give the door a good rap next to the handle it unlocks and works for a few times. This one is puzzling since I can’t find the problem.

    That's not too bad considering you have 118k on the clock. Did you purchase stock springs? What struts did you replace the OEM ones with?

    If you could list the part number and purchase location that would be helpful. I'd like to be able to recommend this to others who want to "freshen" up their suspension without having to go with lowering springs.

    It does but I'm asking what parts he purchased for the job. :)

    It's always nice to do the work yourself and save loads of money. Well, as long as nothing goes wrong and your neighbors don't mind a few curse words and the sound of wrenches hitting the wall. :D

    You need to replace the spark plugs at 120k also.

    The fronts are the Monroe assembly, the backs are the "replacment" OEM spec on both.

    Sorry I should have included this link when I posted this. the Amazon stuff is easy enough to find but I searched all over to find these struts because I didn't want to lower my ride in a snow state.

    I used to do this at the garage I worked at too, but many years ago.

    I had to curb that now that its medical equipment I repair, that doesn't fly in a hospital and flying tools are not good for the MRI :D

    Consider doing the PCV valve replacement, and throttle body + MAF cleaning, while you are doing plugs.

    I'm surprised that Monroe has appropriate struts. I used the KYB struts.

    well, thats a first for me!

    took the car in for the recall on the collant pump and told them of the parts I knew needed replaced and ordered.

    went to pick it up, NO CHARGE, and NO call about we found sometihng else...

    They did check it all out and told me that its in great shape and that even though i ordered the rear struts I didn't need them.

    I'm in shock!

    the other two dealers I've been to are ripoff artists when it comes to service. Fuccilo on grand Island and Toyota of Batavia don't take your car to either place for service. It's allways an upsell for a part you don't need and they WILL NOT show you the old parts.

    Anyone looking for dealer service in the WNY area, try Northtown on sheridan and millersport.

    Thats what I was looking at but they didn't have an assembly and I don't have the back for spring compresions anymore.

    update.... This site is a rip off.

    The photos of the strut has changed and they shipped it as only the strut not the assembly!!!!!!!
