Here's a great CGI video provided by Toyota of the resin roof available on the 2012 Prius v. The resin roof is 40% lighter than conventional glass roofs and has a much higher heat insulation factor than glass or steel. Plus it looks really cool.

I must say the interior does look impressive. I've yet to see it in person (was not shown at the local auto show) so I guess I won't see it til it reaches the showroom

That's like magic. Both resin roofs went into a tiny section.

Aww... you should've driven down to the Seattle area. It made to this area 2x. Unfortunately, neither time did they have a v with any sunroof.

One of my favorite features is that the shades go back into place when you lock the doors in order to keep heat out of the cabin.

I think it's too bad the panoramic roof is only available on the advanced tech package

    Nice touch. Two questions

    1. So does it open again when you unlock?

    2. Are the shades independent? It looks like they both open and close together.

I don't think I was in the area when they showed up.

Roof, yes. Shade, I don't think so.

Yep. I wished it was available on lower packages. Why is it a "premium option"? (i.e. packaged with the AT)

tideland: i would guess it is packaged with AT to simplify their build orders.

I guess they think the take rate will be low.
