I bought a cheap memory foam mattress about 4 years ago to just try it out. It was a no frills one, maybe 6-8 inches. My wife and I loved it. So after 4 years we decided to take the plunge and get a really good one. While I didn't want to get raped paying Temurpedic prices, we went with one from Costco which was as thick and had similar density foams like their grand bed. It was just over $2k but having had it a year now I would never get any other mattress.

As others have mentioned, I have not found the heat thing an issue with the memory foam and sleeping away from home will suck because of the quality of sleep the memory foam gives you. but like everything, it will not be everyones cup of tea. So I say try a cheap one first before diving in and getting one of the ultra expensive models to see if it is right for you.

Is the O Henry worth the money for a weekend GBoro stay. I've been thinking I would like to take in a couple Grasshopper games, Mello Mushroom, and make a weekend of it. Since I'm in Pinehurst, I'm just 90 minutes away and can come back home. Other than their ads, I've not heard many people talk about O Henry.

Wow, that's a lot of replies. Took advantage of Sears sale, so it's springs and foam Stearns and Foster this time. Geez those Tempur Pedics sound good! Used their pillows for a couple years.

Oh.... "good" doesn't even scratch the surface. Like I said before... when I'm not sleeping on it, I'm dreaming of sleeping on it. Yeah, it was a lot of money. No, the knock-offs an toppers don't seem to be in the same league.

One feature we didn't realize until we bought it - when you are a couple sleeping on the thing, one person can be up and down... even literally jumping into bed - and the other partner doesn't move even a bit. I used to wake up every time my wife had to get up, or came to bed late. Now it is never noticed. Quiet, and jiggle-free. Yay!

Quiet? Oh, if only it could solve snoring. I've suggested my wife sleep on the other side - as in underneath - but that didn't go over too well.

I think it is worth the $$ for something special. We have celebrated several anniversaries there; live only 40 minutes from it. It's quite classy. They do alot of things right in terms of cleanliness, comforts, customer service. If you have the $$, give it a try. Online rates are typically best.

Have you heard or do you think the lower end Tempur Pedics are also great, like the basic Cloud, or does one need to go up into the few thousands with Rhapsody or above?

That's the one we have, too, from IKEA. It's very comfortable. I'm glad to see it is 100% natural latex - I'd forgotten that, but I'm sure it factored in to the initial purchase. I recall it fit in the car quite easily, because it came rolled up.
