My TiVo's set to record it. It will first air on 6/3/11.

Found a clip at [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JhoPBgmYj8"]YouTube - ‪Exclusive scene from "The China Question" airing on CNBC on June 3 at 9pm ET/PT‬‏[/ame] and a trailer at Trailer | The China Question.

It was decent. I hadn't see much about the Uyghurs before but knew of the region.

I didn't know about the [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hukou_system]Hukou system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] until now.

The reaction of the girl to the Tiananmen Square tank man photo wasn't that surprising. In The Tank Man | FRONTLINE | PBS, there was a similar reaction by Chinese college students at the time. Some didn't know or claimed not to know while others sort of whispered it, IIRC. Frontline showed that the Chinese media hardly mentioned the incident. Their propaganda was that that it showed the restraint of the Chinese military.

You'd be amazed how effective commie propaganda can be. I've seen a lot of it first hand. Quite scary.

Finally had a chance to watch it.. Good vid. it is surprising that the chinese did not even know about the tiananmen square ..

The vid also answered some questions I had about how Communism worked. Now that I think about it.. I really liked that vid. It was very very informative for me.

These sure ain't our grandpa's commies...

Stock fraud and accounting fraud is nothing new. And we have plenty of home-grown frauds. Remember Enron. But so far this year, the vast majority of stock fraud seems to coming to American investors by way of China. In mid-May, 15 of the 19 stocks that were halted on the Nasdaq were shares of China-based companies.

Regarding the Frontline ep I mentioned, skip to Chapter 6 of Watch The Full Program Online | The Tank Man | FRONTLINE | PBS (click on the rightmost thumbnail in the video window).

I believe the Frontline ep was first aired in 2006. The above is why I'm not surprised about the girl's reaction to the tank man photo.

When it comes to capitalist fraud, the Chinese are amateurs compared to us.
    Right, Bernie? Right, Wall Street?

I've heard that as soon as Washington stops over-regulating the securities business, that this sort of issue will clear itself up, the economy will really get on the boil... :D

Actually, my son is learning Mandarin at school. I wish I could learn it. I've been to China five times and it is a fascinating place.

Mandarin is far more useful. There are far more speakers.

That said, as an ABC, my Mandarin is terrible and my Cantonese is only a little better.

If you liked "The China Question", I highly recommend http://priuschat.com/forums/freds-h...c-capitalism-being-rerun-starting-2-21-a.html. Unfortunately, it's almost never rerun.

News Headlines (Made In China: The People's Republic of Profit) was decent too. You can watch this one online.

It's being rerun today on CNBC and on CNBC World on 7/13 and 7/16.
